Which Lord of the Rings movies is the best?

I guess I'm with the mass in thinking that the latest one was the best, but then again I haven't really seen any of the other one's in a while. I think it was the most visually pleasing though

The Two towers extended version on DVD.

The two towers was by far the best of the three. The "Fellowship of the ring" was too slow.
Return of the king was special effects heavy and to be honest at times was cliché and cheesy.
The Two Towers was ground breaking. Helms deep was the first battle scene I've seen that was "Wow, how did they do that?"

I'd have to go with Return of the King, for its sheer audacity. And if some things seem cliche, thats because it invented the cliche.

Two Towers definately. The character development was amazing and felt more like a story than just a bunch of battles put together. Not that the others were bad, but none hit me as hard as Two Towers did. I almost cried during Two Towers. My favorite part of ROTK was the story of how gollum became gollum, so anyone who liked that would like Two Towers the most.

It is awfully hard to choose since all of the production values, directing, and acting remain constant throughout the entire trilogy. It's really just up to the actual events in the stories to decide.

The 1st one was the most impressive to me. I saw it when i was in grade 6 and it was by far the most exciting movie I've ever seen. I think all three are great but the 1st one was the one that impressed me the most.

I didn't like the normal version of RotK, in fact, I thought it to be the worst of the three, but the extened changed everything. Now it's my favorite.
