Which MMOG to buy?

hey, im thinking over christmas about venturing into the world of mmog.

im either gonna get Star wars galaxies or world war II online. been playing the wwII online trial and its good fun, but i cant help noticing that this game just seems like its passed its sell buy date. gamplay is wicked but some graphics issues ruin it.

swg looks wicked, i like the idea of it not just being like everquest, i mean its supposedly more relaxed and i like the way u can build a house and it just seems quite open to what the player wants to do. i havent actually played it but been reading alot about it.

just wanted to hear some comments, what are ure opinions etc on which i should go for.

I enjoy playing GunBound, however it has a very Counter-Strikesque feel to it.

so actually on-topic.. i've never played an mmorpg, nor will i ever probably, but djstoker, have you? i have a couple of friends that played them, and one failed out of grad school (although he was readmitted) and the other lost his job (which was probably going to happen anyway). i've never heard a good word about them.. but who knows. i'd recommend you force one of your friends to let you play on their account for an hour or so (or at least watch them) before commiting to any mmorpg.

i was in the SWG beta and i thought it was terrible...

they "added" player cities?? i thought that was supposed to be in the release...

and mounts couldn't possibly make that game worth it...where are the vehicles?

Vehicles are being released soon, not sure why you have such a grudge against a game...

they said "soon" when the game was released like 8 months ago or whenever.

i have a grudge because i so badly wanted the game to be awesome, but it ended up being trash. so much hype all for nothing. half the stuff they promised 'might' be in the game 'soon'

i'm just mad about how much the game wasn't what they implied in their huge however-many-years-it-was hype campaign.

MMOG = massively multiplayer online game (aka mmorpg, " " " role playing ")

Vehicles in SWG enter testing later this month and will be released likely next month. Mounts sure make travelling easier, specially to player cities. I am playing it currently, marksmen/pistoleer/artisan/architect sorta dude I am, haha, weird. I WILL tell you this much cause I am a very picky person, it is better than any other MMORPG I have tried, which includes practically everything.. including everquest, earth & beyond, horizons (at least currenlty, I beta, it SUCKS), anarchy online.. etc.. it makes them all look like dog crap in comparison, It's not laggy/buggy at all for me at least. I like it so far anyway.

I have to say, I wasn't a fan of EQ. I've only tried two MMORPGs, EQ and FFXI (EQ retail, FFXI beta), if I had to pick between the two, FFXI would be my choice
