which states have sale tax on steam purchase?

Is it just certain states or do they apply the regular sales tax rate for every single state?

im in Washington and i had to pay tax, im guessing it was sales tax, although it was higher then what the normal sales tax is. Ive never had to pay online tax either, so im not sure what i payed for, but it was only 5 bucks or so.

Valve is located in Washington, so I imagine thats the only state you'll be charged tax in.
