Ok, so in The Time Machine, after he comes back from far ahead in the future, he decides to go back for good. But because there's not much room in his time machine, he only takes three books with him to this future Earth where everything in the past has been forgotton.

BUT.. It never says which three books he took.

So, if it were you, which three books would you take, considering this place has no real memory of before and its now at its simplist.. You also have to assume you can't come back to get more books n junk.

And yes it is different to the other time thread so nuur :p

1) I would take... hmmm an encyclopedia "D" book
2) A nice Science tome
3) I'm sure that guy took a bible, but I'd take.... hmm...something from one of the great writers...

1. A book about music
2. A book about art
3. A science book about how the sun is going to explode far into the future...

I'd take the complete works of shakespeare

A Big medical book

And probably something to do with sciences too

Why not just point and laugh at them instead? :)

Back to Medieval Times

1. I don't remember the name of the chemistry book, so lets call it that 'Highly Recommended & World-Rated Chemistry Book'.

2. Electricity for Dummies.

3. Book of World History with a Hygiene / Medical mag slipped in it (I'm sure people back then could've used some hygienic guidance).

Hmmm, darn, can't fit the math book.

MadHatter, you can't go back in time, just back to the future part, whole big paradox if you go back and start changing things hehe.

2) the giving tree by shel silverstein (for the cuteness)

It really doesn't work too well with dummies. They tend to deflate alot quicker.

I'd take a couple science books and then another book to teach the Eloi how to read. because they couldn't. because they didn't HAVE books, ya?

Books or book-sized objects?

Cos in that case I'd get e-copies of loads of good books, stick 'em on some kind of book-sized portable storage device, and then take a small reader device (mini-laptop?) along as the second item, and for the third I'd obviously have to have some sort of solar battery or other easily rechargeable power source...

If not, then... um...

1. The Incredibly Concise History Of The World.
2. Some Whacking Great Science Book (Also good for creaming any Morlocks who pop up).
3. The Anarchists Handbook.

Yeah, I'd expect that was cheating, but if it wasn't I would do pretty much the same thing, with the solar battery from ThinkGeek
