I would say a black man. They continue to get closer and closer to those kind of jobs in our government. Besides, I think that we are getting more racially equal in this kind of thing, but I think there are still more people out there that wouldnt want a woman president.

Well, current administration has the most black cabinet members of any, so I'd say a black person soon. Not because a woman couldn't get elected, but I don't see any prominent women politicians that look bold for a future election in '08 (aside from Hillary, +shudders+, and an election with her would be very split, she turns away swing voters)

Edit - Women have been prime minister here a couple times, there's a woman (or so she claims) running right now and she's doing a pretty good job of it... in most respects. I hear people saying "woman make better rulers" alot, but haven't really seen any proof of it. It's the qualities of the individual, regardless of sex, race or sexual orientation that makes someone an admirable leader.

i think hilary has a good chance in '08 at being the first female president. but if she's up against rudy giuliani (which is what they're saying will happen) she doesn't stand a chance.

i wouldn't mind having the president be a black person, a woman, or a homo. if i agree with their platform then they have my vote.
