I`m thinking of giving this series another chance. Which would you recommend and why.

Umm, all?

Because they're ****ing awesome.

I too have started up Wind Waker again.

Ocarina of Time. Best one for the N64. I can't really say anything about the other two because I haven't played them.

Ocarina of Time widely regarded as the best. It is a very, very good game. It was released before the other 3 and also takes place, chronologically, before the other 3. It is the logical choice to start with.

Majora's Mask is brilliant too. It is the direct sequel to OoT and introduces a good few new gameplay twists. It also, IMO, has a much better atmosphere that OoT. It is also darker than OoT, though some parts are quite light-hearted and silly.

Twilight Princess.

Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but it's practically Orcarina of Time but bigger and revamped completly. It's fantastic.

The reality of it is that you can't really go wrong with any of these titles. I'd say the game that strays the furthest from the Zelda formula is Majora's Mask. I consider myself a Zelda purist and prefer the others, but Majora's certainly has it's merits. Perhaps the only game that comes close to the importance of Ocarina in the series, in my opinion, is A Link to the Past (snes).

I have a good friend who owns and has beaten every Zelda game ever made. Want me to ask him which one you should play?

I choice these four because they're the only titles i have systems for.

EDIT:

Sure^

Wind Waker. It's not the best in the series, but has aged well and contains the my fondest moments in a Zelda game.

Ocarina, I still play it today and it remains to be one of the most enjoyable games I play.

But play the rest aswell of course :)

Majoras Mask is fantastic for it's depth and detail which trumped even what Ocarina of Time had, which is saying something because that was pretty intense for it's time, too. It's one of my favourites.

Ocarina of Time is a classic BUT I can't play it now. It's a classic to me for when it first came out and I played it and loved every second. Now, however, having played Twilight Princess it just isn't the same. The magic is still there, natch, but I dunno, I feel alright about leaving alone simply because back at its time it was a seriously good game.

Now Wind Waker is a different piece of cake. In fact, as I type this it's hard for me to say it's a favorite simply because the other three are aswell. Nevertheless, like the others, it's just as fantastic. Damnit, this is starting to lose any kind of sense...

Basically, they're all good and you'd be silly to miss out on any of them.

Do yourself a favor and play at least OOT and Majoras Mask. I haven't played the other two, but am anxious to get my hands on TP.

Two of my friends and I are going to play straight through Majoras Mask, until completion on Saturday night. Hopefully we will make it, we've pulled all-nighters doing random crap before.

Majora's Mask is a masterpiece.

There, I said it.

I would say play Twilight Princess first as 1) it's a fantastic game: sprawling, beautiful, and fun, and 2) because...it's the most recent. As much as I love to play Oot and Majora's Mask to this day, some people will say that they haven't aged well (i mean, they're both like a decade old)

I love Wind Waker and the art style is amazing, but to be honest I hated most of the temples in that game. I loved sailing the sea and the storyline in general, but the Earth and Wind temples in particular were so....boring.

Majora's Mask is my favorite, but definitely don't try that first. Try Twilight Princess

Last summer I tried my first Zelda game. Somehow, despite owning an N64, I never bothered to try either Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask.

My friend and I eventually decided we were going to go through Ocarina from start to finish. It took us nearly 4 months to do it (work got in the way mostly), but we were able to beat the game.

I thought that it was brilliant! The game may be a decade old, but it was so well designed, it didn't feel that way. It's easily one of my favorite games for the N64 now.

This summer I hope to do the same run-through with Majora's Mask.

Hmmm, I would personally recommend Ocarina of Time, or The Windwaker. Twilight Princess is better for broken in fans, as well with Majora's Mask. I'd say Windwaker before Ocarina of Time.

He knows more about the Zelda games than anyone I know.

Just said it in another thread a few days ago but I'll say it again. Wind Waker! Best 3d Zelda by far. Good luck playing Ocarina of Time without gagging on the graphics.

I'd say Twilight Princess, if only for the fact that it's the most recent and I think serves as the best introduction to the series. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (my favourite) are better, but nostalgia makes the aging graphics and other certain problems a lot more tolerable.

On a related note, I'm playing through Phantom Hourglass at the moment and it's awesome :D

Certainly the Ocarina of Time, but I'd also go back & play A Link To The Past. Maybe you might find it too old, but imo it's classic! I'm not up to date with the versions on the DS & that, but I hear they are v good.

Ocarina of Time, it's the only RPG I played without getting bored after half an hour.

I'm so looking forward to when my exams/studies finish. I'm going to go through Majoras, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess all over again. Such wonderfully fantastic games. I wish I could go play them now but I really can't afford to get too engrossed in a game right now...

... or, at least, keep it to the minium of one game to be sucked into - GTA. :D

Ocarina of Time is the BEST adventure game ever made (obviously my opinion), but I'd play Majora's Mask just in spite of the cliche OoT loving. Also because it is arguably equal to OoT.

I think looking back on the titles now I prefer Majoras Mask because there was so much to do. There was a lot to do in Ocarina of Time but not compared to how alive MM felt. However, OoT was a special game to me because of the time I played it, and it's always going to have a place on the top shelf for me as being one of the best games I've ever played. I... can't describe it, really.

Majora's Mask is the most depressing game I have ever played bar none.

This isn't the thread you are looking for.

GTA 4, duh.

Seriously though, I'd suggest Wind Waker, only 'cause it was my favourite.
