White Screen??

I just bought this new computer but periodly it will lockup with a white screen, and then i'll have to manually reboot the computer. Could this be somekind of hardware defect or virus?

That I've never had. I had rainbow, black, blue and green, but never white.

Video card, maybe?

Instead of rebooting your computer, just try turning the monitor off then on again.

If that dosent work, it's probably a problem with your video card.

This computer i'm on doesn't have a video card slot, so i'm using the default motherbaord one. I've also thought it might be the monitor but turning it off then back on doesn't do anything. I've noticed that as soon as the white screen appears (and sometimes it's white with black bars) the lights on the keybaord turn off so it must be locking up.

Contact the supplier, complain, get them to sort it or supply you with a new whatever you need :bounce:

Could it be possibly a virus? Has any "lockup" viruse been made?
