White stripes

I only ever heard Seven Nation to start off with it, and was the first thing i ever learned on the guitar :rolling: . I heard anouther song by them and was wowed that it was good as well. So yeh theyre rpetty good
 
i found that theyre songs are great for people learning!!
and theyre also good

not his sister. he has just reffered to meg as his sister in the past which confused people.
 
they're pretty good stuff. lol, Seven Nation Army was my first song on guitar.
 
They make good music...I even went to a White Stripes concert at the Greek Theatre back in September of last year.

I don't see a new album out though and don't think they are planning on one anytime soon, so I've kind of moved on.
 
Most of their songs sound the same to me, so I got bored of them very quickly.
 
I really like them. Their first album was just a little iffy, though. It was like "oooh...let's put some more feedback in that cut!"
 
the white stripes are a good band. my favorite album of theirs is easily whit blood cells.
 
i've only ever heard seven nation army and don't know what to do with myself.....love them both so i'm deffinatley going to see about hearing more of their stuff
 
Never really been a huge Stripes fan, but that '...doorbell' track and 'Seven Nation Army' has really got me 'into' them recently.

I picked up Get Behind Me Satan and listened to it for a couple of weeks straight. :D
Always cool to see someone doing something different.
 
yeah, get behind me satan is a very solid album. tracks i particularly enjoy are my doorbell and the denial twist.
 
Got hooked at Little Ghost and Not That Lonely Yet too, despite how emasculating that is. :D

The White Stripes is a ****ing awesome band. White Blood Cells is probably the best album released this century.

Really? I loved their first 2 albums, I listen to them exclusively. Anything after that I'm not quite loving. Some good songs, but not the White Stripes I love

Yeah I think his Raconteurs project was better, but still a good, unique band, although her drumming is stupidly basic. Iggy Thump or whatever its called has an orgasmic riff.
 
Raconteurs are better. But Icky Thump is better than both Consolers of the Lonely and Broken Boy Soldiers. Does that make sense? :x

It's all good though. :E
 
So many bands I prefer over them.

Only song of theres that I would consider liking is that Icky Thump single. But pretty much nonexistent on my ipod.

The Raconteurs is nothing special to me.
 
Loved 'em for years. There's quite a few bands that I would say are better, but something about the simple, stripped down style really connects with me. They feel unpretentious, which is refreshing in the age of "bands with a message". Their new album is their best yet in my opinion too, so it's good to see they're yet to start going downhill. Red Rain, Same Boy You've Always Known, I'm Bound to Pack it Up and The Air Near My Fingers are amongst my favourites. Also try and find their live version of Jolene, it's amazing, if you can get over what he's saying...

One of my favourite bands atm is akron/family, but I wouldn't call any of their stuff the best album of the century either. There is just too much good stuff out there in too many different styles to call any one album the best of the century

For the record, "Akron/Family is a folk-influenced experimental rock band that formed in 2002, and is currently based in New York."
