Who can make the best Half-Life 2 trailer?

Not a fan of classical music eh?

Actually, classical is my favorite.

But definitely innaproprite for the trailer, at least in my opinion.

The film itself was very good, especially since you filmed all the shots yourself.

/me watches Gunner's trailer and dies of being hyped up for HL2 again...

Good work, eh?

Pretty sweet, but I agree with Pes that the music was not appropriate for Half-Life 2. It was good trailer music, but not Half-Life 2 trailer music....
And the filming was great too, nice and smooth. But near the end I didn't like the mixing/overlapping of scenes, made me dizzy, but thats just me...

Good work Mr. Gunner.

awesome. im totally making a trailer now. by what date should we have these things done by?

ASAP foo!
:D
I'd make one but I don't think my PC is up to it...

Any particular pieces you care to mention that stand out to you? Classical rocks.

Awesome trailer.

On the contrary, I think the classical music made that video. Awesome buildup, and when the song busted out, I got goosegumps.

I wouldn't really call that "classical" though..more like....orchestra-type music.

Blast! After all those shining reviews, I can't seem to be able to download it.

That was the music off the Spiderman 2 Trailer wasn't it? And I wouldn't call it classical.

AAAAAA!! So god damn scary! will probably get nightmares in significance by the opera music.

Hehe nice work anyway.. but the way , what tools did you use for the sound and the 24-bit color screen blaster? or did you even use any of it? :p

Yeah it was actually, it's called Lacrimosa, and is by a company called Immediate Music who makes music solely for movie trailers. I personally thought the music was what made the trailer. All the other trailers I tried to make failed because the music just didn't seem right. But hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If anyone can suggest a better piese of music, I'd love to make another trailer (its not like I have much else to do right now).

23 Taxi by Jacknife Lee might work. Escape by Clive Armstrong (I think that's who it was anyway). :p

Um, well I just recorded shots with Fraps (the demo anyways) and then edited them. (couldn't figure out how to edit the last post so that it put the quote in)

I kinda think that music from the game itself would be more appropriate...

But I agree, the music did make the trailer, it just wasn't Half-Life Twoey enough...thats all.

eh.... what tools did you use, canadian gunner? Can they be used for other games?

I used Fraps to record the video (can be used with pretty well every game) and Adobe Premiere to edit. Something free like Windows Movie Maker 2 could replace it, but its not the same.
