Who else is afraid?

Ive mentioned this before but, who else here is afraid something not right will happen when unlocking/installing hl2? Like it will be unlocking or installing then your computer will make that error noise and it will say corrupted file or something, and you cant have it until valve fixes it. I mean if you think about it, its very possible, i dont know how the whole works but getting the game in 7 seperate peices sounds kinda dodgy, i mean its kinda easy to miss one little file and bam its over. Like in cs whenever your in office and go into console it says some animal sound failed. I dunno maybe im just going crazy. What do u guys think about this?

LOL!! Yeah. That's the way things usually go for me. But with Hl2 it will be more like, i have no money to buy it on release day, so i wait and once it's bought it doesnt run, then after a day or two it finally runs, and jus as the first level completes loading my pc blows up..

I'm not worried. 10 GB of bandwidth availability at any given peak, is a very large amount of bandwidth coupled with queuing on network servers and massive data througput within the topology has an end result of excellent availability to users.

I would love to see the bandwidth * throughput calculations Valve has developed to design a network that handles this. Would be fun to see but this type of network topology isn't entirely new. We are looking at a mix of peer to peer and server-based one to many type setups so a lot of requests are handled every second.

hehe, im crazy about this game, silver came to our school with a picture of the half life 2 logo and under it it said 6 days left!! and put it on a paper clip and hung it on his zipper on his sweatshirt, THAT MY FRIENDS IS TRUE DEVOTION AND A TRUE FAN!! Thats why i didnt get HL2 through Steam, i thought the download might get a corrupted file, and then id be fuked. Im gettin retail and of course the instalation may still bust up , but at least Il have the proper discs etc.
