Theres no regulated competition for it, so an "honest" (or accurate) report is impossible to get.

yep, some of my friends sat down and played it all the way through without stopping except to eat and defecate for like 20 hours straight. I did over about 2 weeks, but then I wasn't home for 6 of those days, and I probably did it in 5-6 sessions of 1-7 hours each

I beat in about 4 days tops, not sure on the exact time. I just took my time and wanted my first experience run through to be memorable. Ofcourse I do not doubt there are some hardcore people that beat it on hard in less than a day.

Quake 1 was 13 minutes or something like that.

Half-Life 2's fastest speed run is around 2 hours I think, correct me if I'm wrong

In all honesty it took me a little over 18 hours my first time through and thats 9am day of release to 5am the next day.

Yes I am so sad that I played HL2 all day...and night.
