Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source Update Released

Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source updates are available and will be applied automatically when Steam is restarted. The changes include:
Half-Life 2
Fixed sound stuttering problems caused by thread contention in sound system
Counter-Strike: Source
Fixed missing models when running the Video Stress Test

Although apparently many have had no problems, not one person I know personally has managed to resolve the stutter since the game's release, including myself, and since Valve released patches that worked for some people the problem is now conveniently non-existant and residing under a carpet somewhere.
I suggest giving up on bad rubbish and moving on to better things, this year is looking to bring some great games. As a bonus you won't need steam to cock them up either. :E

My PC has 512mb. But I also have an ATI Radeon 9800 256mb Video Card.
With this card, the game runs absolutely smoothly. The only "stuttering" I get is online, and that's Lag, which is completely different.

Have Valve said they're no longer working on the problem? No.
Have Valve released a patch that fixes the problem for a large number of users? Yes.
Does that mean that they've finished? No.
