Who is the G-Man?

This may seem newbish but I never really understood who the G-Man was from the original Half-Life... I would always see him walking around and stuff and I would be like, who the heck is that?

the G-man was the G-man. you were never really told who he was or why he was there. he just was. every ones made assumptions as to who he is but as far as i know, no one really knows. he just seems to be some one that watches you.

He's some high level jerk of unknown origins who in the end of the game offers you a job, the alternative is death.

Aparantly he pulls strings to get things done and admires people who show the capablity to survive difficult situations i.e. Adrian and Gordon. However Gordon got a job while Adrian got stasis-ed or something

Adrian got put into a suspended matrix I think.....either that or his memory was erased?

Who is Adrian? Is that from an expansion pack? I have only played the original HL.

In OpFor- Opposing Force expansion pack- you play as a marine named Adrian Shepherd

Ah, thank you. I have been meaning to check out the expansion packs. Blue Shift sounds quite intriuging.

If im not mistaken BlueShift contains Opposing Force as well so Id definity recommend getting it. Not to mention the high definition model pack :bounce:

Blue Shift doesn't contain OpFor. and I'd recommend Opfor, cause its alot longer and cooler

It is worth it, it's stand alone and those 2/3 hours are great. Also its worth it for the High Def pack.

I personally think the G-Man was of some sort of political influence to the game.

His shady attitude, what he wore, how he spoke etc.

Just the generaly shadyness of his actions. Also the whole story of Half-Life one was basically based on a 'government-coverup'. And he'd be the perfect aid to a story that followed that line

opfor DOES come with blueshift, my blueshift cd has blueshift, opfor, install hd pack in the autorun menu, therefore......

Yes.

Ive also played through them all on hard without dieing once.

i'd play blueshift before opfor, that was the order that was recommended to me as well.

For some reason I don't think he is a women - that would make a weird plot, no?

Just wanted to say that I got Blue Shift for 10 dollars and it came with Op Force on the same CD, and YES it was the single player version as well. I know this because I played through both Blue Shift and Op Force.
