Who isnt going to play hl2 when it comes out

Me
1. I need to do plenty of revision for exams
2. I need to get a new video card which i can only have if i do well in my exams (see above)

So
I wont be coming to the forums I think until I get it and play it. Its really sad that after all this time I will still have to wait to play the game. But its something I have to do, i wont mess up my revision and have to play hl2 on my Radeon 9200 :dozey:
Is anyone in the same prediciment as me?
 
math exam on tuesday and another on wednseday which is gay but then i can bludge for the rest of the school year :LOL: .
 
Me. I really dont got the time, but it bought i over Steam anyway. I think I'm gonna be playing it on friday.

My subwoofer, and my speakers also "got killed", and I aint gonna be playing HL2 without any sound. :S
 
im going to play after school but it wont be looking ts best of a while so il be playing it but not to the best i can.
 
I won't play it too .. because my computers are gone away because of now not named reasons .. and i only have a 500mhz computer right now ... damn ... and i don't know when my computers will be back again. they are away since 9.11.04 .. exactly one week before HL2 ... i hope i become it back by a friends lan end of the month ..

LoL I have a maths exam that day also, but in the morning so its all good
 
No school on tuesday, so i'll be stuck in front of my puter all day ;)
Health check for military service on wednesday, hopefully that won't take too long, so i can get back to playing HL2 =)
 
dont know when mine is exactly but it goes for 1 and a half hours and the one on wednesday goes for the exact same time. but im only in year nine so its all good cept for the study.
 
I'm getting my copy straight after my bio exam which is on the same day as the release date, so i'm going to use it as a way to celebrate.
 
Ye ive got a maths exam wednesday and 2 science exams thursday. But screw it. HL2!!!!!
 
Well, depending on whether I actually receive my order on tuesday, I have all of tuesday off as part of my Uni schedule - so that would make most excellent timing. I just really hope Amazon pull through. Still, if it comes on wednesday I have a half day then also :D
 
I'm playin' it only after 2 weeks it releases, cuz my school year ends in 2 weeks (remember, I live in Brazil) and they say its a worldwide release, but we ALWAYS get things here a couple of weeks later... it doesn't matter what it is... also, I'm getting a 6800 in 2 weeks, I won't even try to play the game with my 5600... hehehe so, I'll be playin' it only in december =O

yes they will. i'm a halo2 fanboy (according to a few people here) and i fully intend to stay up till 1 a.m. so i can play hl2 for like an hour before sleep. i don't have to get up till 11 the next day anyway :thumbs:
 
im in the exact same position as you
having exams and got to wait for my new gfx card.
 
Screw it. I will play the game on my GF4MX440. For me the physics are the best thing in HL2. I've got a Pentium 2,8Ghz which should handle them. It is indeed a bit of a shame not to see the nice water etc. but better play it without the cool effects than not play it at all, right?
 
Skipped school all this year due to a certain illness, SO IVE GOT ALL DAY EVERYDAY FREE TO INDULGE IN HL2 !!! SUCK CRAP EVERYONE WHO DOESNT
 
I'm not going to play it yet (although i'll probably give in to temptation) becuase my computer isn't exactly top-notch so i'm going to wait to get a better one. which hopefully is really soon. I'll just play CS:S to keep me occupied.
 
I'll play it Tuesday for a bit, my life doesn't revolve around HL2 though, so it's doubtful I'll be playing it to death on Tuesday, I have a test coming the following Tuesday as well....so can't be playing too much.
 
Sadly me also wont be playing it right away and parting these forums on the 16th due to my monitor is in its dying stages and my TI4200 finaly had it.
 
well i wont be playing it til after school, which is like 7-8 hours after release, but then im takin the next day off aswell. Some solid playing.

Gonna have to stock up on munch for that night, and following day. Any suggestions?
 
I'm in army until thursday evening, and contemplating whether to take a day off wednesday or thursday or whenever... don't know if this is worth my day off...
 
:dozey: Well, Half Life 2 has bad timing for release, 2nd Quarter exams are coming up. Shortly after that report cards coming, I am sure I have no bad grades, but, we'll have to see. I have free time playing games on Friday and then Saturday, but then I DO go out and stuff... so lately i've only been able to squeeze about 3-5 hours of playing videogames for each week, the past weeks.

It's weird right now, I'm not too eager to beating it like real fast... my first priority is to just have it in possession and knowing that I have it.

That just sparked an idea let's see who completes the game first in the forum!

Never thought I'd be posting a message in a thread with this title...

I was all geared up to play Half-Life 2 the second it was released - I'd preloaded the game and thoroughly prepared my system. Hell, I'd even booked some much-needed time off work.

However, yesterday evening my computer crashed straight from Windows and hasn't got passed the booting stages since. It seems to hang/reboot at random points during the boot process. Sometimes even within the BIOS. I think it's the CPU. It was a mobile Athlon XP-M 2500+ overclocked to 2.2Ghz (200 x 11). It wasn't running particularly hot (50 C max), so I know it's not the heatsink. I've pulled the system apart completely and put it back together yet to no avail.

I don't even know if it's the CPU or not. Could it be the memory, or some feature on the motherboard? Who knows. Even if I manage to diagnose the problem, and attempt to replace the faulty component(s) immediately, it'll still be at least a week before the parts arrive.

After eighteen months waiting for Half-Life 2, just three days before release my computer just simply dies, and all hopes of playing the game vanish in an instant.

Bugger.
 
i actually took 3 days of vacation in my job just to play the game ... how sick is that
 
Stupid console fanboys that don't know jack about superior PC gaming won't.
 
who would take the time to post about not playing half life 2? if ur computer cant handle it. get a new computer then post about it. another pointless topic.
 
It will be probably be too late when I get home on tuesday, my college timetable finishes at 6 P.M!!!! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

And I would be completely knackered, plus there is a physics project that I am in the middle of! If I did decide to play it then, I would have to connect my computer up to an available internet connection which sucks. (This is my dad's i'm on at the moment)

BUT.... I have half the day off on wednesday, that will give me plenty of time to play the game. :thumbs:

Of course, it depends whether amazon UK will deliver it in time,
here's hoping!!

I don't know if i could, because CMA is going to throw a free concert at globe on tuesday, so i don't know whether to go, or stay and HL2.
 
I will be playing it on early December since I`m upgrading my rig then...
 
My new comp is getting built, won't get it until Wednesday, maybe Thursday depending on my work schedule. Drop this one off on Tuesday for the data transfer. So I have to wait an extra day or two. No biggie, I can handle it. No, really, I can. BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I WANT HL2 RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!111eleven!!!!!!one!!!
