Gamespot -

Story sucked and it hurts the game.
AI was average, and the game was easy.
Everything felt recycled.

IGN -

Story was left openended and thats ok.
The AI was incredible, reacting to sound, movement, and making team efforts effectively to bring you down.
The game is essentially a masterpiece.

Two of the top review sites in the world. Both with varying judgement on the game. What do you guys think? Who should we believe?

It is all subjective.

My suggestion.. play the game tomorrow and make your own judgements.

Well looking at all reviews:

Pcgamer uk: 96%
Pczone uk: 97%
Pcgamer us: 98%
Pczone Benelux: 95%
Edge: 10/10
Ign: 97%.
etc..

I'd say I go for IGN..

afaik gamespot is the ONLY review that actually says something along the lines of it sucking -.-

gamespot usually gets it spot on tho thats y i was curious. ign is also highly respectable for their reviews.

seems like gamespot didnt actually play the game to me, just received info about it. they didnt mention they had to play it at valve hq or anything like that, i dunno.

One was written by a Halo fanboy and purposefully left out the fact that HL2's multiplayer is far supeior(sp..) to Halo 2 (player mins for CS is in the hundred millions per month) so the HL2 review got no extra points for it's multiplayer, while Halo 2 got %50 of theirs from its own multiplayer, the other review was by someone who is unbiased and did not play the game on easy to review it faster in the 2day time frame.

Nuff' said.

You know what? "F*ck you Gamespot"

This will be my official word tomorrow when I'll the game!

Ditto.

They're neither wrong nor right; they're opinion only.

Always trust your own opinion before anything else.

WTF is gamespot high on ? but halo 2 was that revolutionary yeah right god dam xbox fanboyz they are.

Believe IGN. What it says is consistent with every other review, Gamespot kinda falls out (though mind you, still gives it a superb score). So while Gamespot is listened to traditionally, IGN is my most respected site now, for some time. I trust them more.

But then again, I'll be making my own judgement tomorrow.

Wait i just noticed...gamespot didnt even give it editors choice. Sigh...Halo 2 was fun yes, it was nothing amazing, and the multiplayer bored the shit out of me after 2 hours. whatever, I think IGN has it more spot on.

The weird thing is...if I had just read the review by gamespot, and then been told "guess what grade they gave it?", I'd say something around the lines of "7". I mean, the grade they gave it, and the review had nothing to do with eachother.

Review: IT SUCKED! Though the graphics were nice...
Score: Editors choice, nice score. Good job valve!!

I really think the guy that reviewd hl2 is a console fanboy...but who is to tell until we play it for ourselves..Im really looking forward to see wut gamespy gives it.

Yep, the minute they said the story was severly lacking, it lost all credibility in my eyes.

If you watched the video that guy was an Idiot, press Q to kick him in the face, its fun!

Jason Ocampo is not a halo fanboy. I would've agreed if it was GregK, but this guy is as fair as they come.

9.2 ain't bad. It's still one of the highest rated pc games.

Wow, thats annoying. A high score and a crap review? WTF?

"A mass of unanswered questions"? It's called PLOT.

Sorry to sound like a fanboy, but I think that review is really out compared to others that say the story is the strongest point.

IGN seems more in line with other reviews. Gamespot appears to be an anomoly.
