Neutrino said:The only thing is that while it would certainly be a very nice gesture it seems somewhat odd. I mean if you could raise $150 for pizza why not donate it to a charity in Valves name or something? I can definitely understand wanting to do something nice for the Valve employees, but when you think about it a charity could certainly use the food much more than Valve could.
not a bad idea...DarkStar said:Lets just send them an envelope with some money in it and let them buy themselves pizzas.

Neutrino said:Sorry, but I just don't think any monetary donation is a good way to thank Valve, for the reasons I stated above.
But if no one else thinks so then carry on. I'll shut up.

CptStern said:not to sound like a stick in the mud, why not take that money and give it to a charity or the poor? Valve employees are not exactly lacking in funds. I know you guys would like to do something nice for the great guys at valve but maybe setting up a fund and donating in Valves name would be a good idea.
Xcellere said:Guys, the point in doing this was to do something nice for the guys at Valve. It would be encouraging at this point in the development cycle to see that your fans care about you. I know that Valve isn't lacking in money, but that's not the point. The point is to show our support, nothing more.
But, I do like the idea of sending a big Thank You card alongside the pizzas. I'll start setting that up as well.
I spoke to one of the mods about payment, and he doesn't have a credit card. So, I'm thinking about handling the donation organization myself. The problem is that I'm not one of the more well known members of the community, although I can try and show you guys that I'm not a thief. Click here to see my profile on IGN, where I have 12,000 posts.
Also, this might help a bit. I operate a construction consulting firm out of Brooklyn, NY, and our website can be found here. If you think I'm pulling anything malicious with the funds, you can call the numbers on that site. Or, I can give out my cell number to everyone who donates, just so you can always get in touch with me. If anyone has any other ideas, post them here.
But in the end, this is just a big "Thank You" to the guys at Valve.
