Pfff Doomguy easily. WTF is annyone gonna do when t3h BFG is launched on j00!?!?!? You can dondge the BFG. It tracks :farmer: all enemies on screen as soon as its fired and does maximum damage even if it doesn't hit the enemy.

I think the Quake 2 guy has an edge. I mean, the blaster you start off with has unlimited ammo, which outdoes them all at a distance.

JC Denton wouldnt stand up to any of them really even his when he fires a weapon his invisibility is gone really and none of his other augmentations would save him
Far Cry guy is the weakest of the group
Master Chief is tough but nothing else
Doom Marine has superior firepower
Doc Freeman has excellent tools of destruction and brains

It would come down to Gordon and Doom Marine
Gordon with the gluon gun,tau cannon and antlions would pwn at medium range
gordon at short range would pwn with the grav gun or pulse rifle secondary fire and snarks (or the above although the minigun would rip him up bad)
Doom Marine would win at long range - not really fair that he can carry a mininuke around with him - btw he cant use the soulcube until he kills 5 hostiles so thats a no no in this faceoff

Master Chief would pwn hand to hand with that plasma sword

Master Chief= toss a emp grenade at him and he hits the floor like a pile of bricks.
Jack Carver= pepper spray his face then smack him in the head with the dragon tooth sword.
Marine= Launch gep gun at him and turn him into bloody chicken nuggets.
Freeman= Activate speed aug to dodge objects then run around him at 30mph then jump 20ft in the air to land ontop of him and beat him in the face with baton.

Gordon Freeman= Bunch of Combine Badasses that want to convert the world of people into slaves and....Well you know

Draw= They all friggin die in a battle royale with each others enemies :bounce:

Gordon would win. He could just use his super gravity gun and pick up a friggin CAR and throw it at MC. Let's see if the Mjolner armor can withstand a freaking CAR!

Also, Gordon could just beat Jack Carver to death with a paintcan or something. He's a patsy. :O

JC denton ((Haven't played Deux ex)) So I dunno. Though I think Gordon can pwn anyone. I mean he defeated 2 huge regimes of alien life.

I've beaten them ALL, except for Deus Ex, and I still think Gordon would win.

Lets also not forget Duke Nukem, Caleb (from Blood), or BJ Blaskowitz from Wolfenstein.

I think the fact of the matter is that they can ALL take much more punishment than your average dude... with the exception of Jack Carver who dies relatively quickly in comparison with other FPS's.

Honestly, Gordon, with a fully powered suit, seems to be able to take/ deal more damage in shorter time span than any of them. Lets face it... his Gluon gun is like a steady BFG stream and kills anything in like 3 seconds... even himself if you ever play HL1DM. Yet, with a fully powered suit, he can take multiple rockets to the chest, multiple shotgun blasts, etc. IIRC, the Master Chief dies after one. Although his suit can regenerate its shields automatically, they don't seem to be able to take much of a beating, and his health bar is like 'null' after that.

All of the old school game characters seem to be able to take a huge amount of damage. I recall the Doom1+2 Guy, BJ Blaskowitz(in Wolf. 3D), and Caleb all being able to take massive amounts of damage. Hell, BJ could heal himself on turkey legs! And we all know how well those help gunshot wounds.

Wheras nowadays, things are trying to be realistic and have you die quicker from less bullets... like Jack Carver and MC, for instance die from several shots. Even the Doom guy took a lot of damage from those shotguns in Doom3. While this may be a good thing, being more realistic, they certainly dont stand a CHANCE against the FPS heros of old... of which I feel Gordon was one of the last, and HL2 remains true to.

In one of my more other threads, I made the case that Gordon is an old school Video Game hero stuck in a realistic world. He climbs up ladders backwards, runs (or walks) around forever with no breaks... even in HL2, he still is an old-school hero. All of the others are realistic characters stuck in a realistic world. So while MC or Jack may be tough guys, and Far Cry may be more realistic, there's no way they can compete with an oldschool FPS hero like Gordon with his Gluon Gun and gravity gun who can take rockets to the face.

Here's my suggestion... make a Source MOD about it! How cool or difficult would it be to model and make a bunch of characters who all look like, have the health/weapons/abilities of their respective characters? They spawn with all their weapons and there are powerups and health packs... and you could have levels from each... a Jungle, a ruined city, a space station, Hell, a monestary... it'd be pretty fun.

Anyway, the Doom marine could use his BFG and soul cube to kill the others, but probably not Freeman. Freeman would just catch them and throw them back with the Zero Point Gravity Manipulator (yes, I really want to call it that Alyx).

And Samus really would win. All she would have to do is jump (or run ) to be invincible + kill anything she hits.
