Aah, Robert Kilroy-Silk, will you never learn?
well, my fellow Brits, what do you reckon?
Kilroy, after quitting UKIP because he got told off for that whole calling Arabs savages problem (Whoops, Mr Kilroy - you're a racist!), has started his own new party, Vertias. With one other person. Sounds like a happenin' party.
Well, there's a few members of UKIP to give him support too - bless.
So here's what concerned me: "our country is being stolen from us" and vows to halt "the ascendancy of multi-culturalism".
Whoops, Mr. Kilroy - you're a racist! You see, if you have issues with immigration and asylum policies and problems, then fair play. But a problem with multi-culturalism!? What can be bad about multi-culturalism? What can be bad about making a country more of a melting pot, more vibrant and more tolerant?

But what if we lose our national identity? Erm, well immigrants from China, India, Pakistan, Africa, the West Indies, Australia (but they're ok 'cause they look like us - erm, I mean what!? :hmph: ) they all seem to have done pretty good in keeping their cultural identity intact, despite being thousands of miles away from their roots. So, we stay in our own country and lose our identity? This only highlights a feeling of weakness that "your identity" is so f*cking bland that you might be drowned out. Bravo.

But there are problems with racial tensions! This "multi-culturalism" will only make it worse! Racial tensions are caused by ignorance. Inexperience breeds ignorance. If you don't meet/interact with people from other cultures, you never understand them and you never realise that, in so many ways we're all the same. And that a lot of the ways in which we're different should be celebrated.

Here's another thing - Britain is already a multi-cultural society. Well, a lot of it is. So by attacking multi-culturalism, you are essentially saying "Get back to where you came from."

Britian was a white nation, now were flooded with people from all over the world.

Not really a bad thing up until a point - now were being outnumbered and the country is too flooded.

britain is doing this so that future nations can get used to people of different colour and religions can all live in one place, and i think UK is a place mixed with cultures and religions, and the media always have non-white presenters etc.

personaly i think its one step further to world peace, one step closer to us all respecting eachother and living with eachother.

even tho i think giving illegal immigrants loads of benefits and free houses and jobs is wrong way to do it!

We - as in white Britons - are not out-numbered. At the last census, roughly 70% were white Christians. Out-numbered? You do the maths.
And I wouldn't say the country is "flooded" - I don't want to get into an immigration debate just yet as I'm about to go out and because the emphasis is, as far as I see it, on the pros and cons of a multi-cultural society.
Britain was a white nation. WAS. Now it's not purely. So what? I see very very very few problems whatsoever with a multi-cultural society for the reasons I stated.
And Kilroy's stance of what equates to "get back to where you came from" IS racist.

An ex chat show host, turned politician. He set up the UK independance party (UKIP) a few years ago, which did quite well, then he started bickering about who should run the party, and left. Now he'd started his own.

Oh, Kilroy didn't start the UKIP party, nor did he suddenly become a politician. before he hosted Kilroy he was, ironically, a Labour MP. He was booted off his show for, shock horror, being a dirty racist. He then joined UKIP, an upstart of a party, and used his popularity with ignorant Sun and Mail readers to get a good portion in my local area.

I feel like the Channel Islands during WW2 :-/

Edit: Azzor, don't be stupid. We're neither flooded, nor did we never welcome immigration. When our Empire collapsed and we needed to repair after WW2, we did invite a lot of immigrants into the country from former colonies. They came, thankfully, and then they needed to bring their family. Who had families of their own. Who're also getting to the age of having families of their own.

I live in Hackney. The immediate area I'm in is essentially Little Israel, comprising, as it does, of a large population of Hassidic Jews and Muslims. A large part of the rest of Hackney is Turkish, Vietnamese, West Indies, India, Pakistan and Martian. They're flooding out of the doorways and it makes me sick. They should all get back to where they came from and stop increasing the possibilities for understanding other people. I want to be ignorant and pissed off, and I'll be damned if Johnny Foreigner's going to stand in my way.

Well said! British culture is evolving and expanding. You can still keep your identity as a white Briton if you so wish. Some people seem to scared to realise that.
Personally I'd consider myself a Londoner before a Brit, and a survey last year (or '03 - I forget which) showed that many other Londoners agree. Wow, and in such a diverse melting pot how do we keep a sense of identity?

Stern - We do have laws against this kind of nonsense. I think he's slippery enough to just stop short of being illegal, or at least the editors stop him. It's one of those instances where I don't agree with free speech bcause the speech doesn't agree with me

An example. Blue Peter held 'Islam Week' a few weeks ago, to 'educate the british people about Islam'. Ok, fair enough, if you also hold weeks for christianity, sikhism, and the other 1001 religions out there. But did they? They did not.

The whole point that Islam is being force fed to us as a country is simply because the biggest majority (that blows any other culture out of the water when it comes to numbers) are muslims in the UK.

Now, it's one thing to be a multi cultural nation, and I'd be happy if there were similar numbers of all cultures so we would have a fair share of all ... but so far it's basically Islam all over the place. That's not being multicultural, that's what's known as an invasion.

For God's sake. You know the reason they did and Islam week, right? You DO realise it wasn't because we're being "invaded"? It's because of the ignorance sweeping the nation about Islam, Muslims and how they are currently, in the public imagination, intrinsically linked with terrorism. So, by showing kids what Islam is actually like, they're teaching tolerance, dispelling myths and stopping racism from a young age. What is possibly wrong with that?
If there was suddenly a lot of bad press and demonisation of Sikhs, for example, then I would be far from surprised in the BBC did something similar to educate the ignorant.

And how is it "Islam all over the place"!? As I posted before, 70% of Britain is white Christian. Out of that 30%, 918 thousand were Muslims. In a country of 60,270,700 that's far from an invasion.
