I'll probably be on most of tonight because my parents went ape-shit on me. So I was hoping we could get a buch of guys and gals together, crack open some cold ones, and shoot eachother.

I don't know if I'll be on then, latest I'll be on will probably be like 11:30 (maybe 12) Canada Eastern
 
I was going to say yes, till I saw the 360 bit. :(

I've recently gotten into CoD 4 (PC... got it on Steam). I really like it. Quite a few coworkers of mine play on 360 but god that's GOT to be painful... so much precise aiming needed! It'd be funny to watch though I imagine. :p M16 and G3 assault rifles I'm sure go unused! Sniper rifles at least you still get the big zoom...

Anyway, yeah, I woulda joined if I could! Still only rank 30!
 
Actually the M16 is one of the better assault rifles in COD4, just one burst can kill some one (if you use the more powerful bullets perk). Infact, it's one of the most used assault rifles in the game. The controls are also not hard at all to master, I play COD4 every day on the 360 and I'm currently on rank 49 and I'm 75% done with that rank. Awesome, yeah? :p
 
seeing that you wont be on when I get back home sucks. My favorite gun is the m16, for the firing rate it's one of the most accurate guns(you just have to know how to aim) but lately i've been accustomed to the RPD with red dot. im always on hardcore 47 prestige(1st round).

my cousin has it for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 controls are way more better and comfortable for the 360.

Haha, nope, G3 owns all on most long range maps. M16s can also be annoying in the right hands. Even the M14 can be pretty lethal, especially on hardcore modes (constant one hit kills ftw).

The only thing that doesn't get a huge amount of use are the sniper rifles. They're a little awkward to aim, but mostly it's because we're still waiting on a fix for the accuracy bug that means you miss alot of the time on what should be direct hits. That and, atleast in my opinion, they're a little underpowered and only really get usage on about 2 maps.

Anyway, having played both PC and 360 versions, I'd say it's a tad slower paced for Xbox on account of the controls, but not too much so. You'd be surprised how proficient and accurate some people can get with them.

Edit - Heh, I'm rank 46 on prestige mode 1st round. Close. :p

Doubt I'll be going through again after this, even though it was kinda fun going back to basics. Mostly I just wanted to get rid of the noob icon (vain, I know).

based soley on preference i understand but the ps3 controls for me are leagues more cocmfortable than the 360. as a matter of fact its the sole reason i bought it for the ps3 instead of the 360
 
Sorry for the sidetrack, but how do you get airstrike as a DemoMan in the Multiplayer part of this game?
 
Demoman? Huh?

Airstrike is available to anyone upon getting a 5 kill streak without dying. Classes don't matter for that sort of thing - you make your own, anyway.
 
Haven't played for quite some time, but my favourite rifle in multi is the G3. Single shot is great for medium-long range and I don't have much problems in close combat either (gotta click fast ;)).
 
How many people here have it on PC?


If there's enough of us we can still play.. :)

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the G3, except I find that the ACOG is incredibly aggravating use on it.
 
The G3 in Hardcore Team Deathmatch + Stopping Power perk = so much awesome.

That's all I ever play now. Regular Team Deathmatch is far too easy for someone to turn the tide by having Juggernaut equipped, so one/two shot kills, no radar and no HUD for me. Also makes everything much funner and tactical.

Alas, I just went into my first Prestige mode run. I was getting fed up of not unlocking any more things, and theres a lot of weapons out there (such as the M16, AK47) that get neglected later on when you've got the likes of the G36C, etc. I'm glad to be progressing once again but thank **** I just got the red dot for my M16. It's iron sights are horrendous.

i'd like to play but COD4 has freezed on me since 1.4
tried reinstalling, updating video card drivers and everything.... no luck
any suggestions?
 
Still 1.4 on 360.

Tonight at 5-6 EST, On 360 CoD4, we will have an EPIC battle on Shipment followed by Bloc, Strike, Vacant, Crash, Crossfire

If you wanted to play on the PC I would've been all over it. :(

Some pretty good games. Took me a while to actually get anywhere with the party and whatnot due to some odd connectivity reasons that never usually happen but once we got started it was pretty fun.

I just miss all my weapons, really. G36C, Overkill perk that lets me carry my sniper rifle AND an M4 for protection... :( ;(
 
Doesn't the overkill perk take away the awesome more damage perk, because without the more damage perk it takes more bullets to kill another player? (i.e. when you have a sniper rifle, it takes 2 shots instead of 1.)
 
Yeah but I play Team Hardcore, where it's pretty much one shot kills all around. :p
