I was thinking this earlier, after the recent record-breaking DVD sales of Star Wars.
Who is wealthier? Steven Spielberg or George Lucas?
 
I bet Spielberg. Lucas gets money from Star Wars and LucasArts, but Spielberg gets money from Jaws, ET, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Dreamworks...
 
definately lucas. Ol' Georgy's got all that merchandise going for him. The thousands of action figures, the electronic lightsabers, the video games, he's wading through piles of cash i imagine
 
Spielberg... he's still making good movies, and I bet he gets paid an absolulte ton for each one... plus, I like him a lot better, so I'd hope so. :)
 
i reckon Lucas is worth more money. he's got Lucasfilm, ILM, Skywalker Sound, THX Group, Lucasarts etc etc. plus you've got all the merchandising rights that Lucas has on films like Star Wars and Indiana Jones. he's worth somewhere in the region of $10billion (FTLondon newspaper).
 
you can't really debate how much money someone has... they either have it or they don't. thanks for the link jpack, interesting stuff
