Whose going to die? And where's Barney? O_o

That is the one character death that would genuinely shock me, were it to happen at this stage.
 
i think gman dying would be annoying, think about it:
we spend all of half life and op4 and hl2 seeing him, and shooting at his ass. for him to die or be killed someway would be like "oh why didnt i think of that", because bullets wont kill him :O, so vavle wud have to use another way.
maybe the fiery pits of mount doom? "goodbye, Mr free-" splash, gurgle, sizzle.
 
i just thought of something.... Eli might not be the one to die, because valve may think people believe disabled people are usless. A.K.A his peg leg?? And if they show him die, he will look hopeless...

No, that wouldn't be. Whoevers got their hand up his ass using him as a puppet will have him executed because he done failed an "easy" mission. :o
 
Gman's not going to die. They're not going to kill off the most enigmatic character in the second episode of a three episode series. He's been around since the opening scene of the first game, for crying out loud. We don't even know if he can die yet.

Agreed.

Alyx has seen way too much character development to just be killed off. It wouldn't make sense to do that. Barney and Kleiner lighten up the game, nobody cares about Mossman, and Eli can be killed off without either evoking indifference or outrage. Eli is the next logical choice.

G-man definitely won't be killed off. He is the most intriguing and enigmatic character of the game, and it also wouldn't make sense to kill him off in the middle of a trilogy. Maybe someday, Gordon will have to actually face him...

realy i tink it will be eli vance i tink the overwatch guy u keep seeing in ep1 on the screens will be in it as a new face other than breen and wlll kill him..
 
thats a really good thought that... an advisor is released and hunts gordon etc nd kills eli, that would REALLY piss alyx off

i don't think any1 will die at the current moment. maybe barney has been captured by the combine, maybe og is short circuited by the strider, maybe that nuke in teh silo goes off in kleiner's face or sumthing, maybe the ALL KNOWING VORTIGAUNT diies or comes back. maybe LAMAR saves the day? no no no. i personally think we're looking in the wrong place here!!so much speculation, infinite answers, anything can happen and will happen.

You sure sound like you know that no one will die in episode 2 even though it has been stated that by Valve themselves that someone will die maybe in an unexpected way but someone will die unless you work at Valve you can't be sure.

You said that you believe that no one will die at the current moment so I just had to state that Valve themselves had admitted that someone will die even if you speculate you can't go against Valve unless they are lying to us and just want us to be more hyped but I'm not going against your theory just saying what Valve had said.
Yes well I just take some of my time to look threads like this and try to keep it active but you seem to be the newest response so I read the latest post and respond to it.

On topic: I believe that Barney and Dr. Kleiner will die because I believe that Valve want us to think that Eli and Mossman will die based on the trailers because they seem the ones that make sense but lots of people are saying that Barney or Dr. Kleiner won't die because they are comic relief.
So Valve knows that we like Barney and Kleiner the most because many don't think that they will die and therefore they are the most suspected to die.
Also considering the fact that maybe Dr. Magnusson the new character is here to replace Kleiner as the main scientist of the rebels he seems to be the one who created the strider buster and the satellite so kleiner simply isn't really needed anymore and if Magnusson needs help he has Eli that's the way that I see it.
 
The liklihood that someone's going to die in my oppinion goes like this:
-Eli: Sad but feasibly true. If the theories about Gman running an employment agency prove true, then he'd be more willing to sacrifice himself for Alyx/Gordon/World/Lamarr/whatever...
-Kleiner: Comic relief can be replaced, and I could quite easily see him following his pet headcrab to his doom.
-Alyx: Maybe Valve is going to pull 2 blindfolds over us... Maybe they kill Alyx in the trailer... then resurrect her through interviews... and then kill her again in the game!
-Colonal Cubbage: I hope he's in this one, but he won't get a cinematic death. He might walk through a door of a room which explodes after the door closes, but probably nothing earth-shaking.
-Father Gregorie: Already dead.
-Barney: The only truely constant character in Half-life... except maybe headcrabs and barnacles...
-D0g: Can't die. I refuse to consider D0g dying. I will make my own version of Ep2 all about D0g if they dare kill him off.
-Breen: Dead, but soon to be resurrected as Mecha Breen.
 
you die from an overdose of awesome in the first 5 minutes of the game. surprise!
 
I will be sad if Eli dies, prolly even get misty-eyed, but it would make the most sense to me.

If they kill off anyone else I'll either not care, or be extremely pissed off.

This is not going to happen, I know that. She's going to be having a deeper story surrounding her.

Anyway, while Eli is the most likely to bite the dust, Barney or Kleiner might also get a taste of it.

Where's Grigori? With all this death around, someone needs to administer last rights.
 
Eli will probably die, I had he distinct feeling the combine did something to him in the two weeks that Gordon and Alyx disappeared. At the beginning of Ep1, you see Eli nearly faint. It could be distress, though I think its something more serious.

If his head explodes, Scanners style, you know I'm right.
 
Maybe Eli doesn't die by the hands of combine but by natural causes hmm makes you think in ep1 he did seem to be weak like he has some health problems who knows wait until ep2.
 
Eli finds a charred leg in the forest and has it surgically attached. It turns out to belong to Doctor Breen, as is shockingly revealed when Breen is able to take over his body! That's right Snake... I'm your Brother!
 
Ya what if Breen actually takes over Eli's body and then that means he's in control of the entire resistance then would mean very bad for the resistance.
 
I'm pretty sure that would cause a TIME PARADOX, kupoartist.

I think we all know who's going to die.

I think we all know who SHOULD be dying.

I think we all know those two aren't the same person.
 
I've said in another thread similar to this one that we could debate all day why a certain character may or may not die.
At the end of the day we will only truly know when we get to play the game and finding out who dies is going to be one of the best parts.
 
I think eli dies or maybe kleiner (at the end of trailer 2). But i really dont know.
