When Square Enix showed the FF7 TechDemo at E3, most people jumped to a conclusion....REMAKE!! Why can't these people see that Square Enix will not remake FF7?? Gamespot has had this TechDemo up on their most popular list of games since it was shown. As long as that's up there, some people will continue to think that FF7 might become a remake.

Most people will ask "why do you care?". It's fun to speculate and talk about things. That's what forums are about...I think. I really don't care about the whole issue..it's just that when the FF7 fans are stuck waiting for a game which that will never come out, (Square Enix said so..but who's to trust them) It should be fun watch them squirm through the years. :cheese:

But I think that Square Enix made a bad move by making a TechDemo of FF7. Just think of all the fan mail recieved by Square Enix by the subject REMAKE FF7!!. That's my rant...it was fun.

the thing that gets me is that Square said, RIGHT AFTER THE DEMO WAS FINISHED, that they weren't remaking it

People are easily drawn to eye candy and epic landscapes. I can understand though that a FF fan might be excited knowing what the future FF games might look like. I've never been into the FF series but I still think it was a nice technical demonstration.

Because a remake of FF7 has been a wetdream for FF7 fans since Ps2 came out

:(

So long as Square-Enix are content to announce that 90% of their upcoming catalogue is FF7 related, people will strongly believe that they have the inclination to remake the original game. No-one can say that it wouldn't be good business sense to remake it...

I think making the remake would be good, there would be people who would buy it, alot of people. But I doubt they will.... a girl can dream though.

Are we talking "never been seen outside of Japan" FF3 or "Actually FF6" FF3? Because I'd like to see either of them sometime ^^

I'd be more excited that the creator of the Final Fantasy series has spun off his own studio and is making two brand new RPGs, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. (both XBOX360 exclusive).

We're talking FF6 (obviously :))- not too fussed abou the Japanese FF3. FF4 i'd like to see again.

I want a FF6 remake :(

EDIT: K jus noticed the posts above me \o/

I wasn't happy at all that there was a tech demo :( It only taunted me with what it would look like if they remade it... bah.

atleast the tech demo looks really ingame

Why I remake of FF7? I want a remake of FF6!!! that is the Best of the Final Fantasy series! too bad a lot of kids missed it because it was not 3d...

You know you all love me....

Once the picture has loaded, click it, as it most likely resized itself alot smaller. I wish people would stop calling people who like FFVII more then the last game kids... Most of them would of played FFVI to, but still prefer the other. I think FFVI had a rather weak story compaired to V and VII.

I personally think the tech demo is overrated. Aside from the phenomenal character models, the actual locales look low tech. It all looks amazing in contrast to the original video, but against other games of the same generation... i'm not so sure.

From a european perspective, it's the other way around. FFVI was first released here long after FFVII. We never had "FFIII" like the US had. Anyway, the arguement isn't that FFVII fans haven't played FFVI - just that because they played 7 first they can't be objective about the older game. Interesting question: which FF has worse graphics? 6 or 7? 7 is a very ugly game if you ask me...

And you're wrong about FFVI's weak story IMO. It was the last moderately sensible FF with a wide cast of decent characters (I measure things by how much I can tolerate the female characters though - 7 had the crappiest female cast in ages), the Villian was amusing and the open-ended nature of the last half of the game was a distinct depature from the usual FF style.

FFVII fans aren't a problem anyway. It's the FFX fans that need rounding up and gassing :D

I liked FFX too, but they made it abit to easy.

The main quest was easy enough. The sidequests are monsterously hard, and were what really made me dislike the game (apart from the voice "acting") - they lack purpose and are about as far from fun as game design gets. Anyone up for jumping 200 thunder bolts to partially power-up one supporting character's weapon?

I didn't like X...liked X-2 D: heh. Personally I liked 7 more than the rest. And i've played em all. Ever last one. including those "never released otuside japan 3 and 2 on FForigins. Personally VII had a great story. Lots of twists. I love when a game seems so simple to understand. Like Midgar...You think you're gonna stay there, enjoy Midgar..roam around it alot. But then you're cast all around the world. From Shinra, to Sephiroth....It had great twists. Don't get me wrong, I loved VI and V...just would prefer VII

PS I hated VIII and IV...ick.

The best thing about FFVIII was the intro, and for me FFVI has the best story sofar, the villain KAFKA and the best music, I so would like to see the opera scene in a remake!. And most people love FF7 because it was their first FF, whoever like I said before, most of the people that have played all the FF series (Like myself) would agree that FFVI (III in USA) is the finest of the series, this of course is just opinions and no a fact, so feel free to love whatever FF you like the most...

I liked FFVII the best.

Ritz, that pic is cool. The first thing I checked when I realized it was so huge was Cloud's eyes. His "mako" eyes look pretty cool. That's a detail I thought they might forget.

FFX was way too easy. I did everything possible in that game (yes, including dodging 200 bolts and killing the 10,000,000 life guy).

Apparently I won the lottery in a secret area. Ozma's Cave or something. You open a series of chests. I just opened them and got 99 Warp Spheres in the last one. Apparently there's only 1 chest in each set that has an item in it (randomized) and the rest have encounters...if you choose 1 wrong chest you can't get the warp spheres.

I liked everything about FFVII more than FFVI (well..except I liked having 4 party members).

-Characters are cooler in 7
-Setting is cool - I just like the whole world
-Battle system - Materia is the best system I've seen in an rpg
-Story - Awesome story with its share of twists and turns

I have to disagree. Sephiroth and Cloud annoyed me at times.

As a whole the game felt less magical, and more 'serious' - almost teen orientated. FF had become 'cool' and angst ridden (damn Sephiroth was twat :/)

Gone were the truckloads of armour/weapons/items, fantasy setting, and interesting characters (didn't really like any of them), and in came cut-scenes, a cyber-punky world, and a new cinematic perspective (which, rather than give you the impression of exploring a huge world, felt more like you were just moving from screen to screen, ala Monkey Island)

It was certainly a good game, and had many great moments, but was the start of the series downfall imo, and not as epic or engrossing as FF6.

Don't start me on FFX :/ What a complete and utter crock of teenage wank.

//edit

A remake of FF7 would still be very cool though :)

FFX did suck hardcore. I still beat it just like FFVIII and FFIX (didn't like them as much either). The only reason I mastered it is because I had nothing to do that summer :P

I liked how FFVII was darker than previous FF games because some of the previous games felt cheesy where FFVII felt more serious.

FFX sucked. And just to think that Square-Enix wanted and did a "sequal" to it makes me want to vomit.

Someone who hates 4 and loves 5? Don't see that every day :) Personally, I love 5, but for all the wrong reasons. That game is like a freakin pantomime: "boo! hiss! It's ex-death the evil tree!"

An FF8 remake (Along with an FF6 remake) would be teh roxx0rz
