Why can't Gman be Gordon ?

After proposing something I thought to be original, I was flamed nearly to death. While I assure the users of HL2.net that before posting another one of my theories I will use the search button, I still believe that Gman being Gordon is plausible. As I did before. I never said this was what I firmly believe, merely that it could be a possibility. As I'm sure you are already aware, Gman and Gordon both share similar features. A widows peak (Gordon appears to have a slight one, although I could very well be wrong) Green eyes, high forehead, etc. When I first head it I laughed, although it wasn't as bad as the one about him being Gordon's father. However, after looking into it I figured it was plausible. Plausible. Meaning I do not necessarily believe to be true but are considering it. I was shocked that so many people were offended and even awaited my death. I was hoping that the majority of this site's users possessed the ability to have an intelligent debate rather than childish flame wars. And well those who are flaming me may very well have a legitimate argument, I would have liked to hear it instead of petty personal attacks. That being said, nobody provided a reason why Gman can not be Gordon from the future. I will not deny that there is evidence against this theory, and If there is I would like to see it. All I ask is that my fellow HL2 fans share there input on this theory. If you do so intelligently it will only aid your argument and help prove my supposed incorrectness.

This website is more than five years old. For all five of those years we've been inundated with theories about the G-Man, and the "Gordon is G-Man" is one of those most common and least plausible. The members of this site are very open to intelligent discussion and speculation and if you were to spend a lot of time reading through old threads in the archives you would be able to find plenty of reasonable discussion of the Gordon is G-Man theory. However, it's been reiterated too many times, and that's why there's so much resistance to it.

Sure, it's vaguely possible. It's also possible that G-Man is Gordon's great-great-great grandson, or that the G-Man is actually an older version of Jack Bauer making a cameo appearance in HL.

I have green eyes, a high forehead, and a widow's peak. I am not Gordon Freeman, nor am I the G-Man.

The fact is that it is EXTREMELY unlikely that the "G-Man=Gordon!!!!1" idea is even remotely true, and it's been discussed to death. There is no semblance of evidence to support it, it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense for the story, et cetera. In short, it's almost definitely for sure 100% incorrect, we're sick of discussing it, and we will not discuss it anymore unless some new information comes to light that merits looking at it again.

Thread closed, feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss this further.
