Has anyone else noticed al the PC's in cs_office look like Dell towers!?!?

Very odd. Does Valve have some affillation to Dell, or do they just think Dell towers look cool (I do :))

Anyone!?

It's bound to be the most recognisable pc model for players. I guess they could have used an eastern european truck-sized brand, but that would take away all the fun shooting it. Or come to think of it, that would be great fun!

We have lots of Dells where I work so I enjoy shooting them very much.

And I enjoy shooting them in-game too... ;)

i worked at dell for 6 years and i can tell u from experience...ur a moron if u buy a dell for ur home, period. :) don't know how many times i saw someone drop a hard drive on concrete from 3 feet up and just pick it up and put it in box...among other things...

jesus!!

no dell for me.

besides, dell dont sell Shuttle XPC's ;)

Cant belive that HDD story man. Its just..................wrong!!

Valve use dells at their office, so it was probably easy for them to model one.

It's called product placement and makes valve extra money. Although the computers in office aren't called Dell so it's probably meant to be more of a knock-off whereas the video cards inside are recognizably ATI and constitute product placement.

I have Alienware. :)

Please don't flame because it works awesome and don't care if I paid twice what you paid.

I prefer dell looking pcs, over alienwares.
edit: House, Im not directing that comment at you, I didnt even see your post when I posted mine.

Its a black pc case, which is cool by me, no need to be fancy.

and I was talking about aesthetics.

everyone knows how much dells suck because of the knock off watered down mobo's and vid cards. They put them in there so you can smash the **** out of them and feel better knowing your taking your anger out when a year or two ago your dell crapped out on you right before you went to play a game!!

Umm...the original poster never mentioned Alienware?

My brother has Dell and it works as well as my Alienware, after he upgraded the RAM to 1Gb and bought a new Vid card. so Dell is a good PC.

Its Dell because Valve use Dell.

Btw, I have dell... and am pleased.

Well, I have some probs... but i dont think its dells fault

There must be something seriously wrong with your Aleinware then.

Yeah, lots of spyware. I bought it last year.

My specs:
Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz
1024 GB Ram
Geforce 5700 Ultra (need to upgrade soon)
Asus mobo of some sort
130 GB Seagate Memory

thats exactly why I edited and tried to explain it had nothing to do with your post.

it was merely a co-incidence that I saw only AFTER posting my comment.. I didnt want you to think I was flaming you, or It had anything to do with the fact you like alienwares.

I edited my original post as you were replying to mine, so its just unfortunate I didnt get the edit in first.

another reason why I said "I prefer a dell, and I was glad it wasn't an Alienware" was because Alienwares would look quite out of place in cs_office. (which is why I said aesthetics)

err... They are 64 bit processors. Its just that no software has been designed to actually use that feature yet.

EDIT: Also Dell's aren't as bad as people say they are, I had one for 4 years and after upgrading the video card 3 years ago (it came with a GeForce 2) I was playing games like Morrowind with maximum gfx and going at a very decent speed. My only real problem with it was the locked down bios.

believe what you believe bro im just telling the true
You have any proof that AMD has somehow duped the whole world by providing CPU's that aren't actually 64bit?

Once the 64bit version of Windows XP is released we will see the truth. Without a 64bit compliant OS you can't use a 64bit CPU, Intel wouldn't be able to do it either. AMD simply designed their 64bit CPU's to be backward compliant with 32bit OS's to maximize sales.

Well on these forums I saw a lot of people dis dell, so my gues valve put them there so you could shoot the dell pc's and feel satisfide, I mean you wouldn't shoot the comps if they were alienware or wity amd 64.
