As for the three partnering companies, Bhavnani noted, this will help in their struggle against Microsoft, since all of them have the goal of "getting more of their products on the desktop." Joining forces also potentially extends their advertising reach, he added. While financial details of the deal were not announced, Bhavnani said he expected they might share ad revenue. The Fair Share Scheduler in Solaris 10 is responsible for proportionally allocating resources from a pool to different containers in different zones. Thus, two zones in separate containers can have different resource weighting to allocate more resources on demand to one zone or the other, giving admins a high degree of control over resource utilization.
A friend of mine makes stands for archery targets. He has a order for ten large stands (for men archers to shoot at), four medium stands (for women) and four small stands (for children). Large stands need two pieces of wood 2035mm long, two pieces 1990mm long, two pieces 1330mm long and one piece 1425mm long. Medium stands need two pieces 1800mm long, two pieces 1755mm long, two pieces 890mm long and one piece 985mm long. Small stands need two pieces of wood 1700mm long, two pieces 1655mm long, two pieces 670mm long and one piece 765mm long. The wood comes in lengths 5100mm long. What is the most economic way to cut the wood, with the minimum wastage? This is real problem, not fictional. We found an excellent program called Astrokettle which solves this and similar problems very quickly, and is even available on a free 30-day trial. The program is very, very clever indeed and immensely practical. I haven't got a clue how it works. - John
"I wanted more than salvation. I wanted to be in the belly of the whale," Don Nace states in Drawn Out, a collection of raw and lyrical drawings that illustrate the story of Nace’s life, from a childhood dominated by the tragic loss of a father, through the agonizing and euphoric process of self-discovery to love, marriage, and fatherhood. Drawn Out simultaneously captures the landscapes of New York City and the American southwest, animating the limbs of his characters with the crowded frenzy of New York’s gray canyon streets while showcasing the wide plains and big sky of the desert in his black and white scrawls. The lines bind together fear and joy into the cloth that lets the artist dress after being stripped naked by the daily events of being alive.
The State, that is the coldest of all cold monsters. Coldly, also, it lies; and the lie that creeps from its mouth is this: "I, the State, am the People."
That is a lie! Those who created peoples were creators, and they hung a faith over them and a love, and so, served life.
Destroyers are those who lay snares for many and call it the State: they hang a sword over them and a hundred cravings.
Where people still exist, the State is not understood, but hated as the evil eye and as sin against custom and law.
I give unto you this sign: every people speaks of good and evil in its own language, which its neighbor does not understand. It has devised its language for itself in customs and in laws.
But the State lies about good and evil in all tongues; and whatever it says, it lies-and whatever it has, it has stolen.
Everything in it is false; it bites with stolen teeth-the biter. False even are its bowels....
But the earth still is free for great souls. Open still are many sites for one alone or for two alone, where the odor floats of quite seas....
There where the State leaves off-look but there, Brother! Do you not see it: the rainbow and bridge of the Superman?

In geometry, a simplex or n-simplex is an n-dimensional analogue of a triangle. Specifically, a simplex is the convex hull of a set of (n + 1) affinely independent points in some Euclidean space of dimension n or higher (i.e., a set of points such that no m-plane contains more than (m + 1) of them; such points are said to be in general position).
For example, a 0-simplex is a point, a 1-simplex is a line segment, a 2-simplex is a triangle, a 3-simplex is a tetrahedron, and a 4-simplex is a pentachoron (in each case with interior).
A regular simplex is a simplex that is also a regular polytope. A regular n-simplex may be constructed from a regular (n − 1)-simplex by connecting a new vertex to all original vertices by the common edge length.
The convex hull of any m of the n points is also a simplex, called an m-face. The 0-faces are called the vertices, the 1-faces are called the edges, the (n − 1)-faces are called the facets, and the sole n-face is the whole n-simplex itself. In general, the number of m-faces is equal to the binomial coefficient C(n + 1, m + 1). Consequently, the number of m-faces of an n-simplex may be found in column (m + 1) of row (n + 1) of Pascal's triangle.
I have no idea whats going on, but I can tell you that fish do have blood.
Go gut one.
The K1 (or Type 88) is a main battle tank in use with the South Korean ground forces. It was introduced to the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) in 1988, hence its name Type 88. It is manufactured by Hyundai Precision of South Korea (being designed originally by US company General Dynamics).
It is a fifty-two ton tank with a 105 mm main gun, sophisticated fire control system and composite armour. It looks like a shrunken version of the US Army's M1 Abrams tank, with the appropriate nickname of "Baby Abrams" used by the American troops stationed in South Korea, but the fire control system is similar to the German Leopard tank's. The powerplant is a German MTU diesel engine that is produced under license in Korea. The top road speed is approximately 70 km/h.
Some time after the K1 first went into production, it has been confirmed through defectors from North Korea who crossed the border into China that the North Korean Army personnel show extreme fear towards the tank since the K1 outclasses all of the tanks that the North Koreans have in their inventory. This led the North Koreans to upgrade their T-62 in hopes of creating an effective countermeasure against the K1. Despite the effort, the North Koreans have not came up with an effective means of countering the K1 threat, and gave the K1 and the K1A1 battle tanks the nickname of "Monster Tank" (괴물전차).
The K1A1 is similar to its predecessor, with the exception of a larger M-256 120 mm main gun (the US licensed product of German Rheinmetall 120 mm smoothbore gun) with vastly improved penetration power. The new version also includes an improved fire-control system featuring thermal image KGPS (Korean Gunner's Primary Sight), KCPS (Korean Commander's Panoramic Sight), and a new 32-bit ballistic computer along with improved survivablity for the engine. The FCS gives the tank a 90% or greater chance of hitting its target while on the move, with the highest score it achieved topped off at 98%. The improved armor is roughly equivalent to that of M1A1 without its depleted uranium plating inserts.
The K1A1 can easily be distinguished from the K1 by the shape of the gun, location of the co-axial machinegun, the shape of the commander's panoramic sight, and the overall angular shape of the turret. (K1A1 has more curved surfaces than K1) The 120 mm smoothbore gun of K1A1 is thicker than the K1's 105 mm rifled gun and has a thicker thermal sleeve third of the way from the base of the gun. The co-axial machinegun on K1A1 is located at a much higher point compared to the K1. K1A1 also features somewhat cone-shaped day/night KGPS compared to day-only sight of K1 that has plain, tube-like appearance to it.
The tank can "sit" and "stand", as well as "kneel", through the usage of its extensive suspension system that allows each of the road wheels, or "bogies", to be adjusted in height. "Sitting" gives the tank lower profile and offer better handling over roads. "Standing" allows the tank to have better maneuverability over rough terrain. "Kneeling" increases the amount of angle that the tank's gun barrel can elevate and depress, which allows the tank to fire its main gun downhill--something that very few tanks, if there are any others at all, can do--and give it better ability to engage low-flying aircraft. Their mobility allows them to climb slopes as steep as 60 degrees. The suspension system is not completely without its own flaws, as it reportedly breaks down often from extremely intensive usage.
The K1 and K1A1 use two M60 Machine guns, one pintle mounted M60D, and one co-axial M60E2. It also uses the K-6 machine gun on a pintle mount, a M2 Browning .50 caliber (12.7 mm) machine gun licence produced by Daewoo.
"V'ger wanted what we have, you and I," Kirk observed into the sunset. "What we've shared, and what we have yet to share in the future."
"Agreed," Spock replied. "V'ger rifled through my memories, and in doing so, discovered moments we had shared. It found itself lacking in any experience as satisfying."
Kirk grinned warmly. "Which moments?"
"Anything causing me to feel warmth for you and for our relationship," Spock answered, "such as the time we were forced to stay up all night entertaining the Andorian ambassador so that she would not discover that a Starfleet oversight had left her without an assigned cabin. Or the adventure on Sigma Iotia, where you taught me to speak like a Chicago gangster. Or the incident in the Enterprise swimming pool, where we tried to invent a new stroke and Mr. Scott called for security."
Kirk chuckled. "He thought you were drowning!"
"I am not the most graceful of swimmers," Spock stated.
"All very human moments," Kirk pointed out. "I treasure them, too. I remember some Vulcan ones as well," he added.
"Such as?"
"The time we'd... just finished making love, and you spent an hour running your fingernails across my back and explaining alternation of generation to me. Not the usual human pillowtalk. But you finally made me understand the concept, which two Academy professors had never been able to accomplish."
"Vulcans believe that a day in which something new has been learned or understood is a day unwasted."
"I think that's the way many humans feel about loving, or being loved," Kirk countered. "Good thing we're so good at doing both." He stopped walking and looked out across the bay at the twinkling lights of San Francisco. Spock came to a stop beside him, and he turned to face the Vulcan. "Marry me. Let's keep learning--and loving--together as long as we can."
Spock paused before responding, letting the sounds of the bay crashing against the base of the bridge decorate the silence. "Nothing would please me more."
Kirk glowed and drew closer. "I've always wanted to kiss you on the 'bridge'," he murmured.
Existentialism is a philosophical movement that is generally considered a study that pursues meaning in existence and seeks value for the existing individual. Existentialism, unlike other fields of philosophy, does not treat the individual as a concept, and values individual subjectivity over objectivity. As a result, questions regarding the meaning of life and subjective experience are seen as being of paramount importance, above all other scientific and philosophical pursuits. Existentialism often is associated with anxiety, dread, awareness of death, and freedom. Famous existentialists include Sartre, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Camus, and Heidegger.
