Why Doom3 is not in HL2's league.

Lets get this straight you start the game and it's great, the models look superb,the game scares you at first, but after a few hours playing i'm bored already.There is no plot of any note,the levels all start to look the same lacking variation,the small corridors restrict movement when fighting.You stop being scared after an hour when you get used to it and gets pretty dull fast, like farcry all action nothing else..

When all is said and done and the initial "oh look at that sexy monster" fades your left with a pretty average game thats been overated by the eye candy, and to be honest the large outdoor locations of HL2 look far,far better.Only the models in DOOM3 are better, but at a great expense to gameplay i feel.

HL2 will destroy this game in variation,story,locations,game play,interaction, mark my words.

No Plot? Have you not been reading the PDA? I picked my copy up at bestbuy yesterday and have to say it's a kickass game. Is it like Half-life2, no. Was it supposed to be, No. This game was made for one reason and one reason alone, to scare the shit out of you. It's not even the games gfx that get to you, it's the sound. Even comparing doom3 with HL2 is stupid. They are 2 totally different games. If you liked doom 1 or 2, you will like doom 3. If you like scary, challenging, creepy games, you will like doom3. Overall, great game.

And of course some wont like doom3, but then again some wont like HL2 also. But im gonna like both for sure. I dont demand much from games like some people do, as long its fun and has a good story.

Especially those people that download a warez version, and say the game was "ok", or say " bit boring" , those people are really ignorant. Why you download it anyway then for god sakes? If you want plot read a book, or watch a non-holywood movie.

If you want a gorefest with the most sophisticated game engine on the highstreet buy Doom 3.

Doom was never raved about for it's compelling story, but simply because Carmack is a genius with new technologies. The guy probably thinks in binary.
