Why everywhere I call they say it ships Feb 2004?

I heard the reason that most of these retailers have the date as different then sept.30th is because they are forced to.


This is because they cannot guarantee their customers a product on a certain date, if they themselves are unsure if it will make it or not.

So, if they kept the Sept. 30th date, and HL2 didn't arrive....then their customers would be pissed like "wtf, you said it would come out on this date and it didn't, etc"

The reason this thread has gone off topic is that this subject is so tired it has gone to a nearby corner and died.

The other topic is far more entertaining......maybe move this whole thread to off topic, or delete it before my eyes start to bleed from 'release date' threads.
