Why is circumcision so common in America?

This is a real mystery I've been thinking about. Throughout history, circumcision has never been widespread within the Catholic or Protestant communities in Europe. It only existed in the Jewish and Muslim minorities. Yet when immigration to America commenced, people from Christian traditions suddenly adopted the Jewish custom, and now it's the norm. Why is that? Does anyone know?

I personally don't agree with circumcision, mostly because it's performed on non-consenting infants.
 
I'm glad this was done to me when I can't remember it at all, as opposed to when I was at the age where I am able to consent to something I imagine is very painful.

It seems like the only people who are so against it are people who are uncut.

Really, it doesn't make a lick of difference, because we grow up with and become accustomed to whatever we have.

Though if the majority of people in America had it, your argument wouldn't hold any water. So therefore your argument is a paradox because the situation you are proposing nullifies the circumstances.

Also a circumcised penis is a private thing, not something you parade around on your head. And since most girls (or guys if you roll that way) are accustomed to it, it's not like there's a huge problem.

So I just think you're making a big deal out of something nobody really cares about, for no real reason.

Fapping without lube and fapping with lube are two different processes.

Without, it's a similar thing to what you're doing. We may not have a foreskin but we're still simply sliding the skin to cause stimulation. Works just fine.

And that is the last time I am ever going to explain that process to you.

We've had the above discussion countless of times, I made this thread to figure out why America started to practise circumcision.

I could make a similar argument with the names thing though. What if your parents gave you a religious name, for religious reasons? If you grew up and out of your belief in god, and disliked having religious views forced on you by your family, would you feel horrible about your given name? No, I seriously doubt you would. Because it doesn't matter, just like circumcision.

I think people have missed the point behind a thing I said earlier. The only people that seem to have problems are uncut themselves. What motivates you to seem to 'defend' us in the first place? I use the term defend loosely because it seems like you actually attacking, with some incredibly stupid superior standpoint.

There's a few reasons. One is that it's become a juedo-christian custom of sorts, and two: because it reduces the rate of infection and makes the cleaning process easier. It's become a routine operation in most hospitals here and has caught on much faster due to the commercialization of health care in the United States leading to faster changes in standard birth/operating procedures.

That's the simplest and most by-the-book description I can give. There's a few more reasons that really wouldn't be necessary to discuss here. This was actually a large topic of discussion in one of my sociology lectures because it's become such a defining cultural trait for Americans and before that the Jews, Muslim (Sunnis) and other theist groups.

Also, as a circumcised male, I assure you fapping without lube is not just possible, but still pleasurable and deeeeelightful!. That being said, everyone should be aware of overdoing it and causing friction burns and skin irritation! This can cause all kinds of problems ranging from erectile dysfunction to swelling, redness and infection in both circumcised and uncircumcisized males (and transgenders)!

anyway...fapping with a skin or without it's the same thing, as far as i know only the excess skin is removed which doesn't have a decisive part in stimulation. 3/4 of the shlong are still fully functional despite the version.

If you are uncircumsiced, i would think it feels better to fap, just think about it:

You constantly move a layer of skin up and down over the head and over the entire penis really fast, causing more friction overall and probably smoother friction as your dick skin is probably softer than your hands skin. Think about it this way: You extract the inside of a vagina in a very thin layer and wrap it around your dick and start to fap with it on...thats pretty much what it feels like with foreskin. Without foreskin, doesnt it kinda..hurt..to drag your hand over the head (when its dry)? I just makes me cringe...its like draging your nails on a chalkboard, how would your hand even slide down your penis, wouldnt it just...get stuck? And if you pull harder, wouldnt your dick head like..****ing rip off? Maybe i fap too hard, but with hardskin you can fap incredibly hard, because no matter how hard you do it, or how much pressure you hold your dick with, your hand is always sliding smoothly.

I draw the line at parents rights at mutilation and abuse. Circumcision is both.

I hate listening to all my friend's bullshit opinions on circumcision, because I'm uncut. He acts like he actually goes around and talks to women and they all tell him they prefer cut. That's ****ing bullshit and we both know it because there's no reason he'd ever go around just asking that shit.
