Why is it illegal to put money in other people's parking meters?

Yes, General.

On topic: its just stupid to make a good act illegal.

Dodn't you know that helping someone that is being robbed is illegal?

I remember there was this big case of this clown who called himself Ronald McDonald (but he wasn't the real Ronald.) getting sued by a city because he was a constant offender of this. One of the people who he helped put a quarter I believe turned out to be a lawyer and helped defend him and people started sending him money.

Jesus did that too. Except he got nailed to a huge wooden cross instead of getting sued...

Speaking of which, i found it weird that Christopher Eccleson played modern day Jesus. Doesn't seem right somehow.

In Sweden you must have the headlights on at all time. If you're caught with the lights off twice you will lose your license.

;) It is also illegal if it is raining in the afternoon, when you have your windshield wipes on, you MUST have your headlights on. In the afternoon people, what the freak!?(California Law)
That's not just in California though, lots of states have a similar one. And as someone pointed out before, it makes sense - helps with visibility - usually when its raining, it gets a bit dark.

Here headlights must be used day and night. It's really hard to notice a car, especially a black or grey one if its headlights are not lit. Even if there was no law for that, I'd still have them on. Safer that way.

pardon my ignorance, but why do you have to use the headlights all the time?

The vehicle is much more easily noticed if it has headlights on. There might be some other things to it but can't think of them. In my 125cc motorcycle, for example, the headlights can't be turned off when the power/engine is on.

I dunno, i just thought it was weird because, I live in Southern California, and no matter how gray the skies are, things are pretty visible... well in the afternoon that is.

Also, even in heavy rain, headlights are bad to have on due to reflection of your lights bouncing off from the rain... lowbeams are the ones you want to use right?

Yes, they must be on here at all time too. The reason is, as you said, that it's much easier to spot, even in sunlight. It's also useful to see if a car is parked or just has stopped.

I forgot if that clown was getting faced with a lawsuit or criminal charges but it was big news years back here.
