I just found over 200 servers hosting the beta.... 50+ more just came up....

Good luck trying!

The beta is free publicity for Valve anyway and will cause them no harm. So why bother with getting rid of it?

I dunno. Perhaps if you worked on a game for 5 years and wanted to get it out the door when it was complete and then it gets stolen and released for free with missing textures, sounds, ect to the public you might be a little upset about it.

I dunno you might think it was really funny and laugh about it and go tell everyone to download it and play it.

There's nothing wrong with a beta getting out, unless its the whole game. Its the source that needs to be erased, too bad its only 30 mb.

You made my point. The beta is an incomplete pre-E3 build of the game which has done nothing but create alot of hype for HL2. It has caused Valve no harm at all. The source code is a different story.

Probably a little upset BUT knowing that just about EVERYONE that has remotely heard about it is going to buy it. I would get over it and work on getting it out the door asap.

all this leak stuff is driving me crazy. im sick of leak threads :( bye bye now.

They aren't interested in the 'beta' they are just interested in identifying the original hacker obtaining a criminal conviction and getting his ass put in jail (and most of the jail put in his ass repeatedly) for the next ten years or so.

I'd be more upset if the full game was released with no missing textures or sounds. THe missing textures and sounds will make the fans hunger for more. Thus making them buy the game when it comes out. :)

No one's trying to stop the leak, simpleton.
