Why Vivendi can deliver the game only on Fall 2004 if it will be in their hand in Aug

I'm buying on steam anyway as it'll probably all be pre-loaded before the release date - I think I might buy the collectors edition a few months later when the price has dropped considerably.

hmm.. ya know i think the number of Collectors Editions will be limited..and so if u don't get on the day of release.. i doubt i will find one months down the line.

Predicting release for sometime in September is just sensible thinking as it takes into account Gold to release time as well as second guessing when about in August the Gold announcement is.

the only thing anyone else besides valve knows for certain is that they said hopeful gold date in august, and that's it.

also, i think it'd be wise to understand that this can always change. with the whole doom 3 release date news and the ati/nvidia war debate going on, you never know if these dates will change.

if there's one thing to learn from this whole release date fiasco, it's that nothing is set in stone and to make assumptions/speculations at this point is basically useless and a waste of time.

1.) You assume that this is definatly going to happen, we dont really know when VALVe will deliver it to Vivendi... We just assume it will be August based on a comment.

2.) It could go gold the last day in August. That would not be early September

Well They will keep their summer promisse... Bu it's most likely to be released in September, I hope Doom 3 don't follow'em
