Every once in a while now, I'm noticing that my computer is making a squeaking noise. I think its coming from the fan, but i'm not sure why that would be. Any ideas?

Maybe you have a mouse in your case.

If its a case fan (not on the cpu or video card) you could unplug it for a bit and see if it goes away. That would narrow it down anyway. Also I find blowing out the case, especially the fans, is really useful for making wierd noises go away.

it could either be a case fan or some lose part on your case or in your computer.

How old is the pc? Fans do go bad after time, probably the bearings. If you can, take the side cover off the case and try to locate where the sound is coming from. The fans, HDD's, CD Drives, and Floppy are about the only moving parts in a pc that could make noise. Don't forget to check the power supply fan as well.

Make the fan run with it outside of the case. You should be able to hear it a lot better.
FYI coils on the motherboard can make noise.

It happens like maybe once a week. It's not doing it anymore. The only fans I have in there are a case fan for the back, cpu fan, and PSU fan. I've been looking for some 3 in 1 lubricating oil or some sewing machine oil, but haven't found any yet. I want to lubricate the bearings.

very true, especially when they start getting older and hotter
