Why XP? Theory inside.

Okay, I just got my new computer the other day, complete with Win XP installed... and I got to wondering: Why is it called XP?

Then I came up with this theory. Look at it. XP. It's a little dude with his eyes squinched shut, poking his tongue out.

Microsoft is making fun of us.


Unless anyone can actually give me a legit reason for XP's name being XP, I'm just going to go along believing my operating system is taking the piss...

Im not sure about windows XP. But I know that XP means "Extreme Programming". Its a method of creating applications where the programmers are in constant communication with the clients and the general design of the program is very subjective to changes.

So maybe its actually "Windows Extreme Programming".

when XP first came out and my friend had alot of trouble installing it back then, he referred to it as "Xtra Problems" heh
