Why you should stand against the wall when waiting for a train.

Good job he didn't push want to push a skinny woman in front of a train.

Wat. How did that even happen? I didn't read the backstory which I probably should. The most disturbing thing about it, to me, were the people not knowing what to do then all running up the stairs. WAKE UP SHEEPLE.

What would you do if someone pushed someone in front of an oncoming train? Dive in front of it too?

Or running to get to her platform's side?

That's what it's like there, you go up the stairs and across to the other side, much like the metro in Paris.

The best captial punishment for this kind of thing, death by slow moving trash compactor.

The woman didn't see what was coming, but the guilty person would have 5 minutes of shear agony just watching his body slowly getting crushed.

Wait, what happened to the dude that pushed her off? I mean, did he flee and the police had to look for him, or did he just stand right there, laughing?

Wtf. No trains? Then what do you vandalise there when you are bored?

you can see him run up the stairs right after pushing her.

The people waiting to board on the other side saw what happened and it looks to me like several of them ran after him to catch him.

I'd like to know what happened but the article has no details.

What I don't understand is why don't the trains slow down well before reaching the platform, so that things like this would be impossible. The train operator will easily be able to stop if someone fell or got pushed in, then.

/me is too disgusted by this to make a pun

"Attention passengers, we are approaching the final leg of our journey. Please no cutting."

To be fair, it is very difficult to gauge such risks.

EDIT: Weird... I was just watching a show and they said "track" as soon as I was typing it. This has happened before.
Think of it this way? How many times has it not happened? There's no supernatural coincidence at work; it's just that your brain notices those very few times when it does happen, and flags them up at remarkable. A similar principle is at work when you learn the meaning of a word that has long baffled you, and then, suddenly, that word seems to be everywhere. It's selective perception and false pattern-recognition of the same kind that leads us to imagine that momentous things tend to happen on the borders between centuries (tip: there's no trend).

they should have railings that pop down when the train is at a full stop. I think some places already do.

She should have seen this coming.

Funny, I was thinking something like that earlier. Maybe some gates like horseback riders, bmx or motocross type gates?

At first I was thinking something like in the movies. A clear Plexiglas wall that closes like security gates or something. People would probably just get injured on them when they close, or even get trapped on the wrong side if the wall was tall enough.

Assuming they don't already have something that works well, then if they can make some kind of gate safe, then we might see them in richer cities one day. If so, in the future we may look back on the lack of a safety gate as major facepalm -- like, duh, yeah people are going to be killed.

Honestly, it usually takes quite a few deaths to get anyone to do anything.

that's exactly what I pictured him doing.

Lol

If you like excessively gory Japanese movies I'd also recommend Machine Girl.

that was unnecessarily long, and i expected epic lulz, i demand a refund

You're not meant to watch the whole thing.

Despite the crowds the Japanese tend to be organised when possible. When you have multiple trains moving through an area you need to board/un-board as quickly as possible. Morning and Afternoon commutes are still hell regardless. Some stations have personal to shove people on trains.

Or Ichi the Killer. Is Machine Girl that one someone posted a trailer of a while back, where some little Japanese schoolgirl has all these ****ed up killing weapons build into her?

Also, I disliked Suicide Club, it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Just saw Suicide Circle (Jap name...don't know why it's changed in English). The ending is wtf, cause it doesn't end, but now I see that there's a sequel, going to see that next. It's the first of a trilogy, the third has yet to come out.

There's a sequel?

Waaaat.

I think maybe I already knew that but either it sounded stupid or I couldn't uh, acquire it.

To the people that thought of the idea of making sort of "fences" that pop up, the reason you probably do not see this, is because if someone still falls in/gets trapped in, it will be even more difficult for them to get out.

Well this has to be posted.

*video*

HAHAH, I assume you have seen Ricky-O?

A fence doesn't have to be built exactly right on the edge, and as such wouldn't make it any easier or harder to get up or down in that scenario.

You don't build a fence that pops up, that's bloody retarded. You build a fence that has gates that the train doors align with. Once the train has stopped the gates slide open to the side. Go to Japan or Hong Kong you'll see what I'm talking about.
