Wii Colour!

Whatever happened to the Wii system coming out in numerous colours? They were showing pictures of black, green, blue, silver, etc. systems up until the release of the system, but no talk about them have surfaced since.

I think it will garnish newer colours later in its life solely because the same happened for the N64, Gamecube, etc.

Nintendo coming out with different colored Wii's is a marketing strategy. It'll probably happen next holiday season when parents are shopping for Christmas. Nintendo will annouce the 'new' colored Wii's... that do absolutely nothing new... but everyone will want one because it's a different color. Look at Gamboy and DS lite. All they did was change the color, and it sells like crack cocaine in a room full of addicts...

Black will be next, although I really don't like the Black controllers.

Red, Green, Silver were all photoshops and nothing has ever been made in those colours (yet). We saw a Light Blue controller at the September event thing, but people thing that is what the base plastic looks like without the sexy white sheen. It was a horrible looking colour anyway.

It's Nintendo's duty to continue their colorful tradition. I refuse to buy a bland, matte finish white Wii.

I want a glossy black one.

I'm sure that Nintendo wants to start leveling out Supply and Demand of the current White Wii before adding in color to the mix.

With the PlayStation 3 they probably could start changing colors with silver and such since not a whole lot of people are buying them and demand isn't so high.

You're absolutely right, Reggie Fils-Aime was interviewed about it today and he said that when he starts seeing Wiis on shop shelves for more than 1 day at a time, they'd consider making the next colour.

I've only seen a display model up close at BB. The finish was pitiful. Might not have been representative of the final production finish.
