I'll try and keep this updated.

So far sounds great :)

What was the big suprise that Nintendo was talking about a couple of weeks ago?

Should have named it the Wii-view thread!

...

I'll get my coat D:

I'm liking Trauma Center. I don't have the DS version, but it looks pretty awesome, so I'm picking it up for the Wii. Also Red Steel, might get Excite trucks because it's a good change in control scheme.

heh I know it's a tall order to ask but ..could you link some of the reviews? :E

edit: oh ok you took it from somewhere else

Red Steel got 90%?! I was was expecting a flop to be honest. Very, very encouraging.

Wow, cannae wait pet! :D

When a multiplatform site or magazine reviews it with that score, you should get excited.

Red Steel looks "meh" to me. However, Zelda has got me giddy.

NGamer, which is the magasine I get, generally gives honest reviews. For example, they're one of the only publications to recognise Starfox Adventures for the piece of relative tat that is was.

'Finally, does it surpass Ocarina of Time? This question is reserved for the community and industry in the coming months and years, but all indications are this is simply the best Zelda title ever, and it dwarfs Ocarina of Time in every respect. Nintendo delivers on the goods.'

Blimey.

Yeah, exactly. How long before I need to break out the costume and start re-enacting scenes from past games?

I'm so excited. And my girlfriend thinks she gives me that permanent erection. :O

But they keep messing with the formula. The weird water-style thingy for the GC version and now this weird planet jumping thing.

They need to do a proper 3D platformer.

What isn't proper about running and jumping between planets or with a gimmick attatched to your back. They're still 3D platforming. And if it was too similar to 64, they'd run out of ideas, for fear of making it too similar.

I have to disagree here. Sunshine wasn't nearly as much as a platformer as Mario 64, and the water pack was an awful addition. Take out the void levels (it's only saving grace imo) and you're left with a rather odd 3d adventure/platformer. It felt like a Mario spin-off.

I really hope Galaxies take Mario back to his abstract platforming roots i.e. lots of platforms and jumping, with no hover pack to make it easy or 'real' worldy villages and locations. It was almost as bad as Sonic Adventure in this respect.

Harsh words. I personally loved it. I agree that the void levels were the best part of the game, but I found it to be refreshing and I think Nintendo were brave to not just create a direct copy of 64.

Gametrailers has a review up for Wii Sports. They gave it an 8.0 with the general statement that it's a blast to play for a few days, your friends will love it, but it's not worth paying for (luckily for us, we don't have to.)

This is the first game that I have ever awarded a 10 in my six years as a reviewer, and for good reason. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is one of the defining videogames of our time. It is unquestionably one of the finest games ever released, and it is one that any gamer should experience regardless of the circumstances.

That's promising.

EDIT: The guy has spoilers in red and yellow. You have been warned.

Wicked. Definitely getting Zelda when it comes out.

Even though it was pretty much guaranteed when i first heard about it, but hey, thats not the point. The point is that now its getting perfect reviews guarantees it to be a wise investment.

I can see it getting the highest ranking on gamerankings thus far.

This little wii naming convention is getting so wiitarded.

Nintendo lost all of their good 3D platformers when Microsoft bought Rareware, I mean, Banjo Kazooie and Conkers Bad Fur Day were awesome, if they could release a title to compare to those onto the Wii would be friggin' awesome! :p

Also, Sunshine was pretty fun... but it certainly didn't have the same playability as Mario 64 ever had, and that damn paint just got goramn annoying!

Zelda scores look very promising. Really cant wait for it now :D

im curious if it is like in the far cry video, it showed the guy just move the remote to the left and then in the game his hand did a slashing motion to the left with his knife, or if it is more realistic that that, where you could stop in mid swing, or back stab, curious :p

I doubt it'll mimic your movements to that degree. Waving the controller in a certain way will trigger a move. Someone mentioned that how hard/fast you do the stabbing motion will affect its power.

We'll have to wait for the Nintendo Poo before we get that lightsaber game everyone is dreaming of.

I am getting one for my family this Xmas, and I really love to see StarWars game using the Jedi light Saber with the remote control.

It will mimic your movements to that degree....I think.

Now that I am talking about the Wii, is it true that Gamecube games played on the Wii won't work with the Wiimote and the nunchuck? I heard they will only work with Gamecube controllers. Not sure if that's true though.

That's true, you need GC pads to play GC gams on the Wii (not a problem for 99.9999% of people with GC games ;))

How would a game that was never coded to use motion-sensing controllers, suddenly use them? Especially as the Wiimote, even with the nunchuk, has less buttons than the GC controller.

1up gives Zelda: Twilight Princess the big 10/10 - Linkage

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz and Trauma Center aren't doing too badly either (around the 8.0 mark)

Rayman gets it first review from IGN - Moar Linkage

1up gives Zelda: Twilight Princess the big 10/10 - Linkage

What an obscenely low rating :D

Highlights for me:

Discoveries can range from mundane -- a Heart Piece in the trees -- to truly sublime, like entire minidungeons that can only be found by bombing the proper bit of scenery.

Despite being the longest Zelda game to date -- there's roughly as much content here as in Ocarina and Wind Waker combined -- it never feels padded.

The only downside?
If Twilight Princess has a single shortcoming, it's that it feels a bit predictable at times. It is a Zelda game, after all, and it's very much the successor to Ocarina of Time, so you'll frequently experience a sense of déjà vu. Forest dungeon? Check. Underwater areas with slow-ass stomping around on the seabed? Yeah, done that before. Boomerang? Arrows? Master Sword? Gotcha, seen 'em. Bosses that must be defeated using the tool found in their respective dungeons? No surprise there.
This is everything that makes a Zelda :)

What's really got me going is that they've oblviously put a lot more into the Zelda overworld. In OoT/MM it was barely a few holes in the ground with a sparse number of goodies. In WW it was vast NOTHINGNESS with an odd shark following you.

In TP? Mini-dungeons? *does Dr. Evil pinky thing*

'The question to ask therefore isn't "Is it any good?" but rather "Just how good is it?"

The answer? Truly fantastic. It's not a reinvention of the genre like Ocarina was -- but it's much better, because it takes all its predecessors' raw ideas, perfects them, and creates an experience that's at once new and familiar. It's rare to find a launch game that truly justifies the purchase of a new console, but this is precisely that. If Wii Sports is a game for everyone, Twilight Princess is for everyone who loves games.'

Arrgh. My hype meter is in serious danger of spilling over!
