[Wii]Zelda:E3 off-screen boss fight

Yeah it does look very nice (That first shot of the whole canyon = breathtaking) . That boss just reminds me of one of my favourite Zelda trademarks...the leadup. It's always = Link walks into a room. Door shuts behind him. Boss proceeds to awaken and look menacing. And then the Name appears (well not in this case). But it is awesome every single time, though the boss could have stood to be a little bigger ;)

Downloading now ;)

I simply love all the Zelda games, i remember the classics on the NES .. good times, cannot wait for this :)

Interesting, reflections of the sword, and the flames do that nice distortion effect.

Just watched it now, looks bloody amazing ! Really gotta sign up to be an IGN Inside for the Hi-Def version Downloads.

The grappling hook and walking up the fence were perfect, and Link makes exertion sounds (reminds me of Ico) as he climbs. Nice touch.

Using the controller to fire the bow is probably more fun than it looks.

The swordplay is what I really like, I love the effects and sounds. I love the brief pause when your sword connects and strikes the enemies as we saw back in the old gameplay demos (I noticed some new games trying to copy this).

Nintendo says the difficulty was lowered for the demo. I'd love to see the enemies put up a fight.

The boss fight was kick ass, and the effects were great.

Looking forward to this game. We've all been waiting a long time. I've been waiting for it since the first images surfaced back when the Gamecube came out. The horseback riding and .. I'm pretty sure you can attack and kill enemies while you are on the horse.

It's going to be epic.

With my personal favorite being A Link to the Past, I am really looking forward to this one knocking its socks off! Its really amazing and beautiful what they've done with it!

A link to the past - wasn't that the SNES version? That one was really great. That and both of the original NES versions (1 and 2) were my favorites, although now-a-days, the graphics really pale in comparison to what can be done today.

I'm the only one in the world who likes the minish cap the most :(

Edit: I watched the movie and I also seem to be the only one not impressed. Especially with the graphics. Zelda 64 was pretty refreshing because they managed to capture the zelda atmosphere so good in 3d, majora's mask just lookad amazing because off all the creatures you could turn in to, and the worlds and the premise still looked very nice.
Wind waker looked stunning, so atmospheric, so rich in colors and yet not to posh or in your face, the contrats and the way it was animated looked WOW!!!!!!

This, well this looks like zelda 64 with much prettier textures, none of the enviorments really looked amazing, the architecture is still n64 like, the wall, the floors, the effects, the colors all looked pretty generic, there wasn't a twist like in prey with all the walking on ceilings and portals. And Mario Galaxy makes this look stoneage. I also haven't seen any gameplay so far that really really looks amazing, that has a nice twist on the usual generic adventure, something that really makes me want the game now unlike with the previous zelda's, whne I saw all the possiblities of majora's mask with it's main gameplay hook, my imagination went overdrive.

But then again i liked a lot of games that most people do not like and liked a lot of games in a series that other people taught subpar so it's probably me. Or Psychonauts just spoiled me.

Don't forget that they didn't make a huge emphasis on the Light/Dark worlds this year. And the werewolf stuff. They're apparently getting rid of the monochrome for the Dark world and making it super colourful and hazy which should be pretty cool.

That was effing mental!

I'm totally getting this... my Gamecube just may yet be of some use.

Zelda? Uh.
Amazing post, Samon. I didn't know you were such an experienced writer!

The game looks really cool! Bosses are always great :)

First time I've seen the new Twilight World in those pictures. I must say, the side by side comparison really shows that the new design is really needed. I think I'd get so bored walking around in black and white ALL the time. Although I hope some of it is in B&W cause WW pulled it off very well.

Looks amazing. Truly. I woud be willing to buy a Wii only to play that game. And
from what I heard, there are going to be more "non-childish" games to Wii then Gamecube.

:(
Was I the only one who actually liked the black and white?

But anyway,

HOLY BALLS!

That looked excellent! The boss was fantastic, the graphics were top-notch, the fighting was beautiful... goddamn, I am so excited! :D

That looks so awesome. I <3 the Zelda series. I won't be getting a Wii though. :(

I will, but I will wait. I noticed that you save like 200 or 300% if you wait a little while. Remember when the Gamecube dropped down to $99? When they did that, they almost doubled the sales of their console iirc.

Everyone likes new hardware, and when that system has a handful of games you really want to play, and the other consoles have run out of games that interest you - a dry spell of good games, and when the price of the Wii console is about the price of two games, it seems worth it doesn't it? Especially, after this time, you can go to a used software store and clean house, picking up 4 or 5 of the very best games for that system for $100, where they used to be $50 or 59$ each.

So therefore, it's always a good idea to find other fantastic games that you missed - last years games, and play those. Before you know it, the prices are down down. They are just as good as when they were new, and they practically give them away! :D

Added:
Of course, if I was totally rich, I'd just buy everything immediately... but then I wouldn't be rich anymore. ;(

I'm impatient, i never wait, i always have to get a console i want as soon as its released, get the pre-order in early etc etc :P

I've waited on every other console I have but I won't be waiting for the Wii.

I'll pay the $200 (betting this will be the price as every other Nintendo system has launched with this price) right off the bat and get 3 other controllers and go nuts.

And the price should go down to $189 before Christmas, in case $199 is just a little too high, to encourage it to sell as a gift. That's what they did with the SNES anyway.

Isn't it supposed to launch at $250?

Welcome back Ikerous! <3

They haven't announced a price yet. Some speculate this price yes, but the experts (like me) say $199. ;)
