Will DOD Source be totally revamped from old DOD?

Or, will it just be the same as Half Life source. Same old graphics, just added physics.

It will be a lot like half life source with better water maybe lighting and physics. This is to get it out in time. They will later add a lot of new player models, textures whatever. I like their plan. I would rater play now then play a better looking game later (and it will be better looking eventually)

If you guys would keep up with the news on the www.steampowered.com forums, you would know that its going to be as good as or better than Counter-Strike: Source. Totally re-done to look awesome even new sound and voice recordings and all. They said that there might even be some cool new editions to the game.

i think it will be remade like CSS but the gameplay elements will not be changed at all, maybe that why they said it will be a 95% port or something. If it was remade like HL:S then it would have been out by now

Well what I originally thought they were going to do is just do a plain convert, publically release that just so its on the Source engine, and then start upgrading, but from what I'm hearing they are going to have it upgraded to full graphics from Day1...

So I guess there plans have changed, on how they would release

Oh and realize that the DoD team is like 10 people or something, so they can't release uber quick, plus VALVe uses them for other projects (ala CS:S and HL2 to get those out the door)

It is being totally remade.....There is no way they could try and sell a game that is only another game with physics added...also like some up top said...its a 95% port which means 95% of the gameplay will be the same and then they will add other subtle changes that will please the fans (hopefully). They are totally remaking all the textures to be up to Source standards.....adding Physics...new PLayer models and weapon models. There wont be a single thing in the game that will be exactly the same as the orignal one.

That got that outa my sytem anyway...
P.S. Everything I have wrote is things confirmed by the DOD team, dont ask for links as I canny be bothered to look thru the net again to find the interviews and offical word that was made by them.

The DoD Source team said first the release'd be like HL Source, then over time they'd be adding new graphics etc, as people have stated before.

If it's a straight port, I fail to see how it's taken them this long. I'm pretty sure what they meant by "95% Straight Port" was it's a 95% staright port gameplay wise.

Waldo :Basically the same game, but nicer looking ala CS:S. We don't want to break the gameplay by trying to add/change too much. One of those "If it aint broke, don't fix it" things. We can make it look a lot better though.
