Halo isn't a good game on PC. It should stay on Console, it just doesn't match up to "better games" on the PC.

Xbox isn't a console persay...it's essentially a PC in a different formfactor that only accepts certain discs...I don't consider it a console because it's made by Microsoft and doesn't suck
 
I hate it how people think that these new games are going to completly blow HL2 out of the water, or any other game.

The only game that is going to be as big as HL2 this year and probably next year is Doom3, and it deserves it. People all think these other games will be the next massive thing, but they all die within 2 months of people completing the singlplayer. The Mp is played around with for abit, but then the servers are all empty. People need to stop thinking HL2 is going to be beat by these footnotes in gaming history like Far Cry. Untill a game comes along that is so imersive and the game makers dedicate themselves to the comunity making free games on its engine (like valve do and Dice/EA dont) only then will there be a game to rival HLs monopoly of the MP gaming scene.

HL2 will almost certainly offer a more immersive, cinemtatic, single player experience :) The physics alone should offer hours of entertainment.

Halo 2 looks to have a more challenging single player game (requiring more practise/skill), better multiplayer (out of the box, not talking mods here) and co-op :)

Both will be fantastic \o/ - which you prefer depends on what type of game floats your boat.

IMO, halo 2 will own, but it wont own HL2. Valve own HL2.
 
Halo 2 will be good (when it comes out on pc) but not as good as hl2.

i think halo2 is good, but its not gonna break as much ground as HL2... and i am NOT biast for HL2, for your information, i only post in the off topic forums, never the HL2 forum bit... :p

and im with you Warbie... Halo is one of the best FPS out there, just because loads of X-box gamers worship it for being THE best, it shouldnt put the game down. It seems because the majority of people like the game, the minority of people who dont are forced into snide comments... be happy!!!1 peace out!!!1

Halo 2 doesnt have physics, doesnt look as good and really doesnt offer anything that hasnt been done before.

It will be good but nowhere near as amazing as Half Life 2.

Halo 2 can't be compared to Half Life 2, we're talking about two completely different target audiences - PC gamers and console kiddies. Besides, how the hell can a 733Mhz 'PC' with a GeForce MX graphics card possibly compete with a 3.6Ghz P4 and GeForce 6800?

Everyone knows the PC port of Halo was a lame duck, bar the vehicles in multiplayer - but now we have UT2004 for that similar kind of game play, and UT2004 does it a thousand times better.

Pointless poll, if you ask me.

It seems that many people here have a very blinkered view. If a game doesn't offer the things 'you' consider to make a good game then it is instantly disregarded as rubbish/inferior.

imo, the problem with single player pc games (especially pc fps) is that they are all very easy (and why I am forced to look to consoles for challenging offline games). Of course, this doesn't matter if all you want is engaging experience :) Take HL, one of the best games ever made - but it wasn't challenging in the slightest. CoD, FarCry, Thief, NOLF - all fun, very easy games.

Halo (xbox) on Legendary is hard. I enjoy it for the same reason I enjoy playing in leagues and tournies with my clan - the challenge. Halo isn't about cutting edge gfx/physics/AI (the gfx are good enough, the gameplay solid. The vehicles do their job and feel suitably 'weighty'. The weapons (especially sniper rifle and shotgun) are just mean :)) The fun is in surviving and completing the objective, just as it was in Golden Eye and Perfect Dark. Who cares if a few of the maps were repetitive? that isn't the point. Do you here people moan that De_Dust gets boring? (i'll admit there's no excuse for library, though :/)

And, of course, there's co-op. That is great fun, and can match any pc gaming experience (imo, of course ;))

Try playing without cheats then.

Oh and Halo is a good console game but that's all it will ever be, nothing more. It can't compete against PC FPS games no matter how you look at it.
 
well to tell you the truth, halo was a "ok" game on pc, but got boring fast.... but i dought it will be better then hl2.

Halo SP was fun, that is, until you got sick and tired of the poor leveldesign and repetition.
The vehicles were kinda lame, its controls shitty. Doesn't mean it was bad, but in my opinion completely overrated.

Halo MP was really fun, but then again, what game isn't fun with 3 or more friends? Totally unbalanced POS actually if you look at it with guns like the pistol and the shotgun. Hopefully they actually will attempt to balance it in Halo 2.

What? No.... It's a console. You can't get anything you want out of it. You have to stick with the same graphics as everyone else. Not to mention crappy online play.
 
Halo 2 will be absolutely awesome.
But you're comparing the sequel to one of the best console games of all time to a game that was voted THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME by gamers themselves (Thank you Gamespy)

Dude, someone even tried to rig the contest by giving Halo 30,000 votes and Half-Life 15,000. But Gamespy caught onto them (who the hell wouldn't notice some cheating there? when every other vote only got a total of about 12,000 votes, suddenly this one pulls out 45,000) and Half-Life claimed its rightful throne
