Will HL2 have a benchmark utility?

yes...it's in the valve thread, i think. they plan to release a full benchmark option along with the game. not sure where the info is.

*shrug* Who knows. I don't think Valve has announced anything concerning that yet. I wouldn't be surprised, though.

look at the top of that page... here's the quote:

"We are in the middle of a lot of performance analysis and tuning with ATI and NVIDIA. We will release benchmarking tools before we ship."
