I really don't see the point in having children in Half-Life 2. They would serve no purpose in the storyline, the gameplay, or anything else for that matter.

same thing as in DE it was not important, but it was realistic, but I guess you are right, Children are not neccsary in HL2, it just wouldent be realistic for that game, except mabey a mission where you save kids from the Combine in HL2 that would be cool.

Personally guys, its a game, so killing someone in half-life like a soldier with an M60, just for the ammo, is ok.

But the concept of killing children would not be tolerated among the community in general. Apparently Seattle banned games in which you kill policeman, games such as Mafia and GTA 3 and what not. If HL2 had you killing children. It wouldn't even be allowed on the shelf

killing helpless children is just for ppl with small dicks who want to total dominate a weak opponent. That's sad and sick and shouldn't be part of a game. Killing a soldier that shoots at you is part of a survival game and he is not helpless and will kill you without mercy. And even the scientists are part of the evil plan bringing dangerous aliens to earth. But kids? They are innocent and weak. Killing them is just sicko!

The is a distinct diffrence between killing a grunt for ammo and killing a child.

a grunt is armed and therefore able to defend himself. a child isnt.

The diffrence being If i was at war seeing all these children with AK47's shooting at me i would kill the child. simply because hes able to defend himself

A helpless person unable to defend ones self is not a target.
