Will I be ok?

take the side panel off and run the system. Don't worry about dustm jsut make sure you clean your fans and such out with that air in a can stuff. I have never used a side cover on any PC and I never had problems with dust.

Guinny just try things once at a time untill you find out your temp drops. Try removing the funnel like i said, if there no difference, or if the temp goes higher then try taking the side panal off like he said(or which ever you want to try first)

Ok. Thanks for all your support guys it means alot to me. Taking the funnel off brought the temp up 5c. Side panel off made 0 difference. My case doesn't support any more fans as far as I know. What else could I do?

Oh, also noone ever answered my question on how to up the voltage so I can run 8x agp.

new case, new side panal. (if your that worried about it)

just something to think about...right now my current pc (not the new one in my sig) is a P4 1.7Ghz machine with a ti4200 and 512 sd ram. My computer ha 0 fans. None at all. I dont know why, but its true. My video card is only a little hot and i havnt had any over heatign problems (i think)

Ok somethings wierd. My system temperatures now read -

Mobo - 39c (102f)
CPU - 35c (95f)

Either

A. My temperature sensor is ****ed up.
B. I enabled hyper-threading technology in BIOS just before hand, and possibly made an effect on it.

Also, someone please tell me how to "up the voltage" on my video card so I can run 8x agp.

Haha, that's weird man, how hot does it get when you stress it though? Your other results were after playing SOF2 for about an hour. The CPU is the one part of you computer that really takes up most of your psu. Maybe it's acting kind of funny because it's getting insufficient power from your psu.

What brand do you have.. Some 400W psu's are less effective then some psu that have less Watt.

If you want to up the voltage you have to do it through the BIOS. What type of BIOS do you have (what company makes it)? Remember not to up the voltage to much at first.

Zool - It came with the case.

qckbeam - ASUS P4P800

ahhh my case will own

case fans: 2 x front, 2 x rear, 2 x side, 1 x top (all 80mm)
plus the cpu fan :D
xaser III's are so sexy.

man. now i'm worried about my computer. i'm running the same thing- 9800pro and a p4 3.0ghz. i get it september 20th, hopefully i won't have to deal with any of these issues. man, if 8x agp didn't work for me i would be pissed. the case i'm buying comes with a 420w psu so i should be okay.

That's going to be one hell of a noisy case. And I still need to know how to up the voltage for 8xagp!! :(

the fans are actually pretty quiet, and there's a lan center near my house (gamewyze) that uses the same cases. they're not bad. my current case is LOUD, its about 40-50dB.

there could be an option to do so in the bios, guinny.

on second thoughts, companies tech supports are actually pretty helpful if you have the time. try calling up ati's tech support, guinny.

EDIT: in reference to the 8x agp problem.

That's allot of fans, but if you drop down the voltage to about 6V.. It shouldn't be that noisy.

I highly recommend Lian-Li PC-70 anf PC-60 aluminum cases. Do some searches on google and there will be plenty of benchmarks of Lian-Li aluminium cases VS the traditional steel case.. The difference is quite striking. The build quality of these cases are top notch.. Everything is fitted with thumbscrews, so it's easy to make "on-the-fly" adjustments whenever. They are extremely light, so they are easy to move around and perfect for lan-parties.

I also have a Cheiftec Dragon DX case which is identical to the TT Xaser cases except for some of the extra fans.. It's also a high quality case, but less effective when it comes to cooling and I'm not sure how much I like the clip-on idea for the 5.25" bays.. When cd-rom's are spinning in about 16x and + they make a horrible noise do to the "loose-clip-on-function". Also the case weighs about 10KG by itself.

Some think that Lian-Li is a bit too expensive, but comparing it to other cases that I have owned and thinking of quality and value.. I don't find it to be too expensive at all. I paid ~$280 for my PC-70.. It's a full tower and it's a gigantic case, no problem at all to fit a water cooling system in here... The problem was fitting the case under my desk ;). The PC-60 cases are midi-tower sized and should not cost more then $180.

i looked at lian-li's but i didn't like them so much. i'm buying the xaser III lanfire, which is also made of aluminum, and extremely light.

Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about the Lian-Li chassis that you looked at?

Ehm.. oki. Lian-Li chassis are known for their sweet design, high quality build and good performance. Anyway it's matter of taste, and ppl get the things they tink are/look best. I think completely the opposite of you.. I Like more simpler designs and I think the Xaser chassis has too much shit.. well everywhere, would have looked better if they kept the design simpler, don't like all that crap in front of the case.
