This may seem evil or rude to post, but I would just like to ask this question of Valve. It's been a long time... In the time since Half Life 2: Episode 2 Valve has released two entirely new games, multiple large updates for Team Fortress 2 and others, and updates the other games fairly often. Also, as was recently learned, they have: created a new User Interface; nearly finished Portal 2; released Steam on Mac systems and the PlayStation 3. Yet in all this time, all that has been released and confirmed as real is a Concept Art picture. Of Gordan Freeman... And an Adviser... Somewhere... (http://www.gamefront.nl/images/hl2_episode3_art.jpg)...? Sure, there have been rumors of a new source and graphics engine, but none have been confirmed, at least as far as I know.

I know it will be released eventually, I do not, however, understand why it might take so long...

All I ask is:
Will Half Life 2: Episode 3 arrive within (6 months / 1 year / 2 years / 5 years)?

I'd put an option in there for 'never' for those who believe the rumours could hold some truth.

They just read your post and decided its not really worth making anymore. The project has been abandoned and will never hit the shelves.

"When Shall We Be Freed Of Our Apprehension?"

I dunno... what are we afraid of? Why are we cautious? And why the shit is every word in that poll title capitalized...

Just shut the hell up and go read a book or something. When you come back Valve may have broke their silence. If not, go outside and play. I hear sunlight is good for the immune and digestive systems.

More like he posted it all in caps and the all caps autopwn got it

Ah... Didn't think of that. I can handle one newb at a time here, but all of this influx of beggers... They're so wrong and they DON'T KNOW IT! D:

Why are you asking us? Tell it to VALVe, not Halflife2.net.

WHO CARES? HALO REACH IS SO MUCH BEDER LOL
well know when we know.

You know, even if we all give up on Valve on the subject of Episode 3, we'll buy it anyway when they release it. Soon. Hopefully.

No.it will never appear.

And we all are gonna die without knowing who the G-Mna really is.

Reach is something awesome to play while waiting for ep3.........For who knows how long. Just let VALVe be themselves, and they'll get around to it. Even if everyone has to play Reach, Portal 2, Fallout NV, The Elder Scrolls V, Dead Rising 2, and Mass Effect 3 for five years, God forbid.

I didn't mind the Left 4 Dead series since it gave me something else to try out from Valve other than Half-Life. And I don't mind that they're bringing us Portal 2 next. But after Portal 2 they've *gotta* bring us Episode 3 next! The wait is starting to kill me now, I'm even resorting to digging at online rumors now. All in all, though, I don't think we'll see anything on Episode 3 until after 2012.

Ep3? Hell, I'd be happy if they patched HL2 properly after they broke it from that last "big" update. Looking at the steam forums it's been 2 months since that update was put out and other than a couple small fixes it doesn't look like it's been touched.

Gimme my non-glitching HL2 back Valve! :sniper:

I'm curious as to what specific glitches you're talking about. I didn't encounter any problems with Half-Life 2 when I played through it after the update, and to me, it seems no different from what it was before the update. I guess the graphics are slightly better, but that's all I've noticed.

Graphics are better? Well ok, maybe some things do look a little nicer (very high setting in graphics detail does show a noticeable difference), but overall I'd prefer the graphics before the update. Maybe once they fix everything (if they do) then I'll change my mind, but until then no.

I tried playing through it just yesterday and I refuse to play through it while it's still broke. So it's been about 2 months since the update was released, things that are still messed up (this is just in one or two chapters).

-Skybox edges still visible
-Breen animation still broke
-train sequence near the beginning of route kanal isn't triggered
-the vort in the rail car, his "jolt" still doesn't add any charge to the suit.
-spots in maps were the lighting seems completely off (Point Insertion, spots in the train station where characters seem to be in the dark for no reason)
-shoddy implementation of bloom fx

And here's the steam forum thread that was started when the udpate was released:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1286478

I got HL2 2 days after it came out and I'd say the overall quality was magnificent. Sure it had bugs, but nothing like what I mentioned above. If I was a new player, the way HL2 is now would leave a bad taste in my mouth toward Valve.

But In mayaian calendar, 2012 is the END OF THE WORLD!!!

It means I can't play the game :-/.
