Will my machine run Half Life 2?

Hi guys sorry to ask such a silly question but I'm gettin Half Life 2 for christmas and I'm not sure about my machine (mainly my gfx card)
I have:
Pentium 4 3.06Ghz w/ HT Technology
768MB PC2100 DDR RAM
GeForce FX 5200 PCI 128MB graphics card
50GB available space. (lol)
700k cable connection
etc.

I'm getting a new motherboard that has an AGP port this week but I was wondering if I'll be able to play it with the current set up I have until I get a new graphics card. This includes the playing of Counterstrike: Source online.
Thanks

Cool, thanks man. Although would I be able to run the game with a higher framerate and resolution if I upgraded to a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AGP card? As this is the card I plan to buy.

Yeah, you can probably play HL2 smoothly, but I doubt it will look as nice as it should. Getting a 9800 pro will help you out there though.

Athlon XP 1.5GHZ
Radeon 9600 Pro
768MB of RAM

And it runs smoothly with 1024x768 at 4x FSAA

Whoa that's awesome, I'm getting Half-Life 2 on Tuesday. What kind of performance should I expect from

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
fx 6600GT 128
512 PC3200 DDR of RAM?

lol my friend is running it on a 933MHZ proccesor and it works fine.

Athlon XP 2800+
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe
ATI Radeon X800 XT
1 gig of RAM
19" Flatscreen CRT monitor

It runs perfectly with all the options on full (except for Vsync)
god I love my box

AMD 2600+ (it thinks its a 2800...)
Geforce 4 Ti 4200
Epox 8RDA3+ m/board
512 RAM
17" monitor

bout 2 years old, but it runs at full speed with every thing on high at 1024x768. but i turned the shadows off, cause i don't notice them neway

The 9800 isn't that much faster than the 9700.

If you are just getting the 9800pro 128 then you are not getting anything faster than the 9700pro.

If you are getting the 9800pro 256mb then just spend a few extra bucks and get the X800pro 256 which is a beast compared to the 9700 or 9800. If I remember right the 9800pro is only 7% faster than the 9700.

Be sure to go with AGP, that is something everyone will agree on.

shiza i dunno about u guys but these r my system specs:
2.17 ghz. Amd Xp 3000+ proccessor
1.5 gig of Samsung DDR Ram
and a NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX Integrated GPU 64 mb shared so its like
128 with the shared ram
...... is that ok for half life 2??? i ran doom 3 on full settings and got no lag on it or any conflicting it ran great... so with my system specs (ive noticed ive had lower than most people) will hl2 run on full settings with great graphics?
