Do you guys think this will be a problem.

It will be my first time building my own system instead of getting someone else to do it for me so im a little worried about breaking the capacitors off.
The position of those things is just plain stupid.
Other then the postion of the capacitors the board looks great especially the DPS.
I cant find another Nforce 3 MB though so im stuck with this one because I dont want a via chip.
And just because I dont want to start a new thread would it be better to attach my 3 pin fans to a fan controller or the motherboard. I got 2 three pin fans but I am not sure if I should connect it to the motherboard because I dont want to put more strain on it when its overclocked. But these fans are automatic and adjust to the temp inside the case and I dont know if they will automatically adjust if they are connected to a fan contoller.

that is a strange place for the capaciters. it wouldent prevent me from buying it. as long as youre careful, it should work out fine for you.

So if you push them a little just make sure they don't get ripped off, and put them back to there original place, I've had some trouble like that with one of my old pos HP's...its a pain in the ass >_<

No, just bend them once if you need, but try to avoid bending completely. Checking to see if your HF will fit before purchasing is always a good idea when building a comp. Anyway, the more you bend it, the weaker it gets.

A fan will draw a couple watts at most. I wouldn't worry about that. Connecting to the MB is a good idea if you want RPM monitoring software to work easily.

I would wait until you have a selection of nForce 3 250 boards or grab one with a VIA K8T800 chipset, which are great as well.
I personally, do not care for gigabyte boards though.

The capacitor issue would prevent me from buying it. First, it's never a good idea to bend capacitors because that does weaken the post that it is connected by and it would just be that much easier for it to come off. Second, that is the retail heatsink/fan and Gigabyte didn't design around it, which is a shame.

I might buy a board if I had to bend the capacitor when using an extreme heatsink but not the retail HSF. I'd have options then.

I dont know if I want a VIA chipset they dont seem to come with as many features as the nforce 3's. I like the firewall support with the nforce a lot. Anyone know of any nforce 3 board yet other then gigabytes?

i was speaking under the assumption you wouldent have to bend them, since you shouldent have to do that anyway.
