You need to buy HL2 and they give you CS : S for the time being.

You still get CS:S with the store bought versions of HL2. This just means that you get it a little early.

If you preload HL2 you get CS:s next week... thats what i understand. Else you have to wait for the official release of Half-life2

Yupp that's right. And if you buy the gold package they throw in a half-life 2 hat, posters, postcards ++ HLS and DODS when it's released. For the time being we only know that we might be able to play CSS next week, if it doesn't get delayed of course..

I agree. I would like to play CS:S when it comes out, but I'm getting a retail version. Pretty ridiculous. I hope they do something about that.

I'm a beta tester and I want it! I don't want to just be stuck with a beta and have to buy the full game when it's out. that's one of the reasons I bought CS:CZ... Except for that it's really cool, obviously.

Why should they? They WANT you to buy on steam, so why are they going to make it avaliable if you don't buy it straght through them. It an insentive to buy through steam.

People should buy it through steam to support Valve. Steam cut's out the middle man, which in this case is VUG. I don't want VUG to get a penny of my money. Valve is all I want to support! I suggest you all do the right thing. Pay the creators, and not the fartcakes taking credit.

All I want is a hardcopy of the game, like every other game I've ever bought. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I do not think Valve is somehow special or different than other game companies, who do provide us with everything on a hardcopy. They should do the same for their customers I think.

So I don't appreciate being penalized for wanting a retail version. But I don't know for sure exactly what will happen, so I'm not going to get all worked up about it because it's possible I'm misunderstanding the details of what will happen with it. Perhaps, they will work out a way for retail buyers to also be able to purchase CS:S. I certainly hope they do.
