Dragoon, they are releasing a demo. Sometime soon, after it officially comes out. Jeez, impatient much?

Very impatient. If I wait for the demo, I won't be able to buy it the day it comes out.

Edit: Though if it doesnt work, I'll have to wait for my 9600 pro to get back from ATI. Anyone know how to get in touch with them to find out what's up with my card? I sent it back for repair/replacment weeks ago.

Pre-ordered it already. Picking up tomorrow if everything goes according to plan.

i have my copy pre-ordered.. so i guess the answer to the question is a big fat YES! :E

please let it be there tomorrow!!! I dont want to wait till the damn 4th :p

pre-order getting it in a few days. Why is there no poll?

Funny story... I was thinking that Doom 3 would be coming out in Australia on the 13th... so today I go down to the shops after uni, stroll into EB, and ask "Hey, how much to preorder Doom 3 for the 13th?". The guy says "Ten bucks mate, and we'll ring you tomorrow when it comes in."

Double-take city!

So he tells me that they should be getting it tomorrow. And tomorrow, I'll have NO homework, and I've got the day after tomorrow off! How's that for neat?

HELL NO, ID doesn't deserve my money for the botched mp :O

the single player still kicks ass though, and that is what Doom 3 was always about.

I will definetly buy :)

ps. if you havent bought it yet how do you know about the botchie mp, if your playing the downloaded version they might be glitchy. you cant judge untill you play the "out of the box" version

besides, they could patch, making it more stable, plus mods and other stuff...

honestly? I don't know. it looks stupid to me, I expect scary, yet stupid repetitive gameplay, no plot, and horrible monster design.

sooo...I dunno.

the game is solely worth the money for its singleplayer experience.

if you bought this game for multiplayer then you are one dumb sob.

MP is the only thing that gives a game life though. No ones talking about how great Sands of Time is anymore now.

I'm unable to decide, myself.

I still talk about Sands of Time...I still play it all the time. :D
Plus as someone pointed out HL didn't have great MP right off the bat either.

I will buy doom3 for sure, I haven't folowed and consumed every little info I could get my hands on for nothing!

but you don't count since you're but a large prehistoric canine! ha!
I'm just saying, sands of time lost its life to most since theres no mp. awesome sp game,, but theres not much to do after you finish it. wasn't that hard either tbh :X

Singleplayer gives a game plenty of life.
And this is incredibly so with doom3.

Have fun with that. :D
Man....I'm gonna have to burn a lot of gas looking for this thing today.

God I need something to occupy my time. The wait is driving me nuts!!
what to do, what to do..

it really doesn't though, it gives it about the time it takes to go through the entire game once. maybe twice if you really like it. other than that its pretty much untouched. and doom3 doesn't sound like the sandbox kind of game, like grand theft auto, for example, where you can still entertain yourself on a rainy day or whatever.

It is my belief that a good single player experience can deliver a level of intensity that no amount of hours of multiplayer can match, no matter how good said multiplayer is.
I think it has something to do with the immersion factor. It is much easier to be 'immersed' in a singleplayer experience than a multiplayer one. because in multiplayer what you get is a bunch of random 14 year olds doing w/e the hell they want, while the singleplayer part of the game has a story to tell. It's being a part of this story that makes it so much more intense for me than online play ever will be

Im not going to buy Doom 3, since the final version didnt really impress me that much for me to go buy it, but I will never the less buy Half Life 2, I think Gabe is doing a fantastic job, and I want to support his product.

Christ people, don't download the game you bastards, and Hallucinogen, you can't base all your opinions of a game of a warez version of a game especially HL2 since it is not even CLOSE to what the finished product will be.

No poll ?

If anyone that's not a major D3 fan tells me it's GREAT then I will buy it

It's fantastic. The singleplayer is way better than anything out of HL2's singleplayer so far.

Cyber, everyone has a preference.. whether its SP or MP.
anyway consider the mod factor for Doom3.
it doesn't have as many mods listed as HL2 but does have a hand full of impressive ones. the websites i visited impressed me anyway :p

I have it on pre-order as of today. I was tempted to start the .torrent to get to play it early (we don't get it 'till 13th over here :() but I need to learn to have patience so I cancelled the download  Everyone who is a FPS fan should buy this game and I expect at least 50% of the warez monkeys will do so once it's released in their country. It's stupidity itself to warez everything without putting somnething back into the industry. I don't want to have to go back to playing Monopoly for fun FFS!

Monopoly is the best board game ever made :p

And ermm... i'm going to see how it runs, if it runs ok i'll buy it :)
If not... well i'll wait till my next computer upgrade. I'm not going to commit to a simple "yes" or "no", because I have been changing my mind about Doom 3 alot.

However what I will *not* do is simply play this leak all the way through and not pay for it.

What I am worried about is that these indie developers will stop making profits entirely one day, leaving us to a games industry entirely dominated by crappy console games and Electronic Arts.

... wait a minute

Indeed it is! I usually play it for real money rather than just for fun :smoking:

keep it on topic please.. I feel like a damn mod atm.. Am I the only one here annoyed when threads go off topic?

i thought the mp was supposed to be proper good...everyone was saying it was proper good from last years quakecon anyhow

No, I'm not gonna waste money on something I'll beat once and never touch again

I swear the appreciation for a good SP game here is majorly low...especially for an HL forum.

and hl still dont have a good mp. only thing thats keeping hl alive is cs and dod and lot of the the other 3rd party mods.
