well aside from Tim Burton behind this thing.. u know how Hollywood's track record is with re-makes.. :|
im just afraid of that track record.. thats all.

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, excellent appart, perfect together, having said that I was a little worried about whether Depp would be right for the part. I had no doubt he could do it, but I felt like he was cast JUST because everyone wants to see a Burton/Depp film.

And when I saw the first pictures and this trailer I still wasn't convinced... until one part about half way through when you see Depp with this perfectly strained smile on his face. You can see everything that I imagined seeing when reading the book; that childlike impatience, the frustration of people who don't understand him, the annoyance of the greedy children, the discomfort at being around the adults he's tried to distance himself from. I read a lot in to books when I was a kid

The way I look at it too... and if we all watch it we may even get a great glass elivator. I can't wait to see CGI Vicious Knids (did I get that right? been a while since I read it)
