Windows 7 Ultimate has been cracked, and can be permanently activated with OEM
style instant offline activation which will pass Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation, before even any Windows 7 is officially released according to Windows 7 release schedule.

Windows 7 Ultimate OEM DVD ISO from Lenovo been leaked and posted on Chinese forum. The ISO was quickly grabbed to retrieve boot.wim, which was then used to retrieve the OEM-SLP product key and OEM certificate for Windows 7 Ultimate.

Pretty sure piracy on these forums is frowned upon? I think Evo's going to come in here raising hell and banning xdrive.

Might want to edit the OP, OP.

With something negative towards it.

Like 'BAD PIRATES!!!11'

I'm going to be buying windows 7. I bought XP because it was finally a worthy upgrade from 98. I'll buy 7 because its finally a worthy upgrade from XP.

Yep, going to be buying Windows 7 myself as well, once I can afford it. Thankfully I have quite a lot of time still left with this release candidate before I have to.

I own 3 ****ing copies of Windows XP. Blargh.

The beta will expire on August 1, 2009, with shutdowns every two hours starting July 1, 2009.

WHOA WHOA WHOA. WTF?

I could have sworn I read before that the betas were going to expire August 2010!? WHAT THE ****?

I only have a couple days now?

EDIT:
The release candidate is available in five languages and will expire on June 1, 2010,

Oh ****ing whew, I nearly gave myself a god damn heart attack. Forgot it was the RC I was using, not the beta.

This is going to be a problem here, because many people seem to believe that OSs are free. Not many are willing to pay a few hundred dollars for a set of programs that they can download easily off the net.

I think it's more like "This way Valve doesn't pull our hosting"

I don't know anything about this crack, but is it similar to the OEM type crack that was released for Vista when it came out? Where it tricks the OS into thinking you're using an OEM machine by emulating their BIOS and whatnot? Because if it is, that got fixed for Vista pretty early on and got flagged as non-genuine. I'd imagine it won't take long for Microsoft to be able to detect it for Windows 7.

OS' and Games are different. Business' are run by government ethics, which also attunes to federal law. No stealing. I don't think Bill Gates would have any prejudice against the crack being made, no surprises. He'll end up raking in the millions by all the offices pinned down by those exact laws.

No this one doesn't emulate. What you need is a SLIC compatible BIOS. That holds the software licensing for OEM copies of Windows and all this crack is doing is adding a legit OEM certificate to it. This method can't be detected and hasn't been on Vista, since it's not emulating.

I have the 7 beta and its pretty sweet. Can't wait for the final version to be released.

I think I'll wait a bit on upgrading. Windows 7 looks pretty good, so I'll move on probably in a year...to make sure all the kinks are out :p

I've had a Dell OEM Vista Ultimate for years...it's still genuine :p . I plan on purchasing 7 in the near future though.

I still can't believe how ridiculously easy it is to get legit Vista keys. All you do is ring Microsoft support when it's out of office hours and the machine just asks you a few basic questions and give you a key. That's what i'm going to do for 7.

Windows 7? Pfffffft. I still have my Xp cd and I am going to use it as long as it works.

So you lot spend all the money in the world on top of the line gaming computers and you can't even spend a little more on a legitimate license for an OS which is the most important peice of software on your PC? You pigs make me sick.

And then you guys are probably the first to complain about Microsoft and their "inability to make a decent OS". Next time you create something neat and original that you put hardwork into, I'm going to go ahead and aquire it illegally, see how you like it then, asshole.

Jesus Christ, go away.

If Microsoft weren't such assholes when it came to PC gaming then i would get a cheap OEM copy. The fact that they treat the PC like shit because they know you pretty much have to use Windows pisses me off. Oh, and please tell me why we in the UK have to pay double what the US pay for the same version? You think that's fair? It's Microsoft who are the pigs, if they realised it at a fair cost worldwide perhaps people would buy it.

Yes, go ahead and tell yourselves that your piracy has a reason. Whatever helps you all sleep at night, I guess.
