Okay i'm REALLY pissed. I was doing a windows update on an older computer I was setting up. It was my old one before I got this one. Anywyas, I was doing windows update, everything fine... except when it got near the end, it kind of glitched and held up forever. I pushed cancel, and that held up forever too... annoyed and impatient, wanting to go to sleep, I pushed power off, and the next day(today), I started it up. It boots to the windows loading up screen, after thats done, it goes black and the computer reboots.. and it starts the process all over again...

ARGH! Any idea how to bypass this? I notice the disk doesnt do a disk drive check.

I tried logging into windows safe mode, but when i'm pushing f8 to get into it while the computer is rebooting, it never does it. Do older AMD motherboards use a different keystroke to access safe mode?

I had this endless rebooting problem once, mysteriously, when I tried to overwrite one obscure file in my windows/system32 folder with another version of itself. The problem went away when I deleted the file through DOS. Dunno if that helps your situation...

As for the F8 thing, I'm not sure. It can't hurt to just hammer all the F-keys while booting up in order to check it out.

Reinstall windows. I had to reinstall it 4 times to get it to work.
